Abstract In this paper, a design of interleaved flyback converter with H6 inverter topology is proposed. Flyback converter is one among the DC-DC converter with high frequency which is used or low power applications. Because of high frequency operation switching losses and stresses are more. To reduce stresses and losses across the switch of interleaved flyback converter is proposed. In the grid tied inverter system leakage current is one of the disadvantages and to avoid this H6 type inverter is used. With this advantage of H6 inverter andflyback converter this paper is mainly focused on stresses across More >

    Yanjun Ge1, Fang Liu1, Daming Wang1, Dongning Liu1
    Revista Internacional de Métodos Numéricos para Cálculo y Diseño en Ingeniería, Vol.38, No.4, pp. 1-15, 2022, DOI:10.23967/j.rimni.2022.12.001 - 02 December 2022
Abstract In order to solve the problems of serious axial and tangential leakage and low torque density in the magnetic circuit axial permanent magnet gear (APMG), an external regulating ring is introduced on the basis of APMG to form a dual-excitation and modulation APMG structure, namely DEM-APMG. The low speed rotor of DEM-APMG is clamped between the inner and outer magnetizing rings to generate dual-excitation field (i.e. dual excitation). At the same time, the inner and outer magnetizing rings modulate the low speed rotor dual-directionally modulation (i.e. dual modulation). The axial and tangential leakage flux of… More >

Influence of residual stress models prescribed in design codes for steel I-section behavior

    Ígor Lemes1, Jéssica L. Silva2, Everton A. P. Batelo3, Ricardo Silveira4
    Revista Internacional de Métodos Numéricos para Cálculo y Diseño en Ingeniería, Vol.38, No.4, pp. 1-21, 2022, DOI:10.23967/j.rimni.2022.09.008 - 05 October 2022
Abstract Non-uniform cooling of steel cross-sections during the manufacturing process generates a state of residual stresses in the cross-section. Design codes describe the distribution of these stresses in different ways. This work aims to numerically investigate the influence of these models on the behavior of bare steel and steel-concrete composite sections by the curves: flexural stiffness-bending moment, moment-curvature and yield curves (initial and full yield). These procedures are important for the study of the simplified curves used in some methodologies of the refined plastic hinge method (RPHM) analysis. The study will use the strain compatibility method… More >

Subdomain method in time with waveform relaxation in space applied to the wave equation combined with the multigrid method

Maicon Felipe Malacarne1, Marcio Augusto Villela Pinto2, Sebastião Romero Franco3
    Revista Internacional de Métodos Numéricos para Cálculo y Diseño en Ingeniería, Vol.38, No.4, pp. 1-22, 2022, DOI:10.23967/j.rimni.2022.11.001 - 08 November 2022
Abstract This work aims to evaluate a parallelizable approximate solution model for the wave equation. For that, we used the temporal sweep known as the Waveform Relaxation method to guarantee the parallelization in space. However, this technique has limitations for this class of problems. Therefore, we proposed the combination of the Subdomain method in a non-conventional way in time with the Multigrid method, intending to reduce computational time and improve the convergence factors. In this work, we presented the mathematical analysis of the stability of the discretization model, which uses the Central Finite Difference method with More >

    Revista Internacional de Métodos Numéricos para Cálculo y Diseño en Ingeniería, Vol.38, No.4, pp. 1-13, 2022, DOI:10.23967/j.rimni.2022.11.002 - 15 November 2022
Abstract Taking the double-layer water injection well and one graded water distributor could regulate two layers as the design and research goal, the sliding double-layer water injection distributor was designed by using the forward and reverse rotation of the driving motor to control the opening and closing of the two nozzles. The flow field of the two flow channels under different opening was analyzed by FLUENT software. The research shows that when the opening of the nozzle was less than 10mm, the maximum flow rate decreases rapidly, and when the opening exceeds 10mm, it decreases slowly. More >

Abstract In this study, IGA is introduced into the performance analysis of the expansion water seal for an exact representation of its complex geometrical shape. Firstly, the incremental equilibrium equations used in the large deformation analysis are derived for the IGA discretization model based on the updated Lagrangian formulation. The unknown contact forces are directly involved in the equilibrium equations, which results in a simple expression. Then, through the investigation of the contact conditions, the normal and tangential contact forces are verified to be the solutions of two box-constrained variational inequalities representing the normal and tangential… More >
