    Muhammad Waqas Ahmed1, Nouf Abdullah Almujally2, Abdulwahab Alazeb3, Asaad Algarni4, Jeongmin Park5,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol., , DOI:10.32604/cmc.2024.046501

Abstract Advances in machine vision systems have revolutionized applications such as autonomous driving, robotic navigation, and augmented reality. Despite substantial progress, challenges persist, including dynamic backgrounds, occlusion, and limited labeled data. To address these challenges, we introduce a comprehensive methodology to enhance image classification and object detection accuracy. The proposed approach involves the integration of multiple methods in a complementary way. The process commences with the application of Gaussian filters to mitigate the impact of noise interference. These images are then processed for segmentation using Fuzzy C-Means segmentation in parallel with saliency mapping techniques to find the most prominent regions. The… More >

Density Clustering Algorithm Based on KD-Tree and Voting Rules

Hui Du, Zhiyuan Hu*, Depeng Lu, Jingrui Liu

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol., , DOI:10.32604/cmc.2024.046314

Abstract Traditional clustering algorithms often struggle to produce satisfactory results when dealing with datasets with uneven density. Additionally, they incur substantial computational costs when applied to high-dimensional data due to calculating similarity matrices. To alleviate these issues, we employ the KD-Tree to partition the dataset and compute the K-nearest neighbors (KNN) density for each point, thereby avoiding the computation of similarity matrices. Moreover, we apply the rules of voting elections, treating each data point as a voter and casting a vote for the point with the highest density among its KNN. By utilizing the vote counts of each point, we develop… More >

    P. Pai Nityanand, B. Devaki, G. Bhat Pareekshith, V. S. Sampath Kumar*

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol., , DOI:10.32604/fhmt.2024.050237

Abstract The study in this manuscript aims to analyse the impact of thermal radiation on the two-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic flow of upper convected Maxwell (UCM) fluid between parallel plates. The lower plate is porous and stationary, while the top plate is impermeable and moving. The equations that describe the flow are transformed into non-linear ordinary differential equations with boundary conditions by employing similarity transformations. The Homotopy Perturbation Method (HPM) is then employed to approach the obtained non-linear ordinary differential equations and get an approximate analytical solution. The analysis includes plotting the velocity profile for different Reynolds number values and temperature distribution curves… More >

    Sana Sahar Guia1, Abdelkader Laouid1, Mohammad Hammoudeh2,*, Mostafa Kara1,3

Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol., , DOI:10.32604/csse.2024.046414

Abstract Artificial intelligence has been involved in several domains. Despite the advantages of using artificial intelligence techniques, some crucial limitations prevent them from being implemented in specific domains and locations. The accuracy, poor quality of gathered data, and processing time are considered major concerns in implementing machine learning techniques, certainly in low-end smart devices. This paper aims to introduce a novel pre-treatment technique dedicated to image text detection that uses the images’ pixel divergence and similarity to reduce the image size. Mitigating the image size while keeping its features improves the model training time with an acceptable accuracy rate. The mitigation… More >
