Liang Liu, Guangda Xu*, Yuan Zhao, Yi Lu, Yu Li, Jing Gao

    Energy Engineering, Vol.121, No.2, pp. 377-404, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.041311 - 25 January 2024

Abstract The couple between the power network and the transportation network (TN) is deepening gradually with the increasing penetration rate of electric vehicles (EV), which also poses a great challenge to the traditional voltage control scheme. In this paper, we propose a coordinated voltage control strategy for the active distribution networks considering multiple types of EV. In the first stage, the action of on-load tap changer and capacitor banks, etc., are determined by optimal power flow calculation, and the node electricity price is also determined based on dynamic time-of-use tariff mechanism. In the second stage, multiple… More >

    Abstract

In order to play a positive role of decentralised wind power on-grid for voltage stability improvement and loss reduction of distribution network, a multi-objective two-stage decentralised wind power planning method is proposed in the paper, which takes into account the network loss correction for the extreme cold region. Firstly, an electro-thermal model is introduced to reflect the effect of temperature on conductor resistance and to correct the results of active network loss calculation; secondly, a two-stage multi-objective two-stage decentralised wind power siting and capacity allocation and reactive voltage optimisation control model is constructed to take account

Integration of Wind and PV Systems Using Genetic-Assisted Artificial Neural Network

    E. Jessy Mol*, M. Mary Linda

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.2, pp. 1471-1489, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.024027 - 19 July 2022

Abstract The prominence of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) in the process of power generation is exponentially increased in the recent days since these sources assist in minimizing the environmental contamination. A grid-tied DFIG (Doubly Fed Induction Generator) based WECS (Wind Energy Conversion System) is introduced in this work, in which a Landsman converter is implemented to improvise the output voltage of PV without any fluctuations. A novel GA (Genetic Algorithm) assisted ANN (Artificial Neural Network) is employed for tracking the Maximum power from PV. Among the rotor and grid side controllers, the former is implemented by More >

Adaptive Fuzzy Robust Tracking Control Using Human Electromyogram Signals for Elastic Joint Robots

    Mahdi Souzanchi-K1, Mohammad-R Akbarzadeh-T1,*, Nadia Naghavi1, Ali Sharifnezhad2, Vahab Khoshdel3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.34, No.1, pp. 279-294, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.023717 - 15 April 2022

Abstract Sliding mode control is often used for systems with parametric uncertainties due to its desirable robustness and stability, but this approach carries undesirable chattering. Similarly, joint elasticity is a common phenomenon induced by transmission systems in robots, but it presents additional complexity in robot dynamics that could lead to robot vibrations or even instability. Coupling these two phenomena presents further compounded challenges, particularly when faced with the human interface's added uncertainties. Here, a stable voltage-based adaptive fuzzy strategy to sliding mode control is proposed for an elastic joint robot arm that uses a human's upper… More >
