Blockchain-Based Trust Model for Inter-Domain Routing

    Qiong Yang1, Li Ma1,2,*, Sami Ullah3, Shanshan Tu1, Hisham Alasmary4, Muhammad Waqas5,6

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.82, No.3, pp. 4821-4839, 2025, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2025.059497 - 06 March 2025

Abstract Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), as the standard inter-domain routing protocol, is a distance-vector dynamic routing protocol used for exchanging routing information between distributed Autonomous Systems (AS). BGP nodes, communicating in a distributed dynamic environment, face several security challenges, with trust being one of the most important issues in inter-domain routing. Existing research, which performs trust evaluation when exchanging routing information to suppress malicious routing behavior, cannot meet the scalability requirements of BGP nodes. In this paper, we propose a blockchain-based trust model for inter-domain routing. Our model achieves scalability by allowing the master node of… More >

Trust Score-Based Malicious Vehicle Detection Scheme in Vehicular Network Environments

    Wenming Wang1,2,3,*, Zhiquan Liu1, Shumin Zhang1, Guijiang Liu1

Abstract Advancements in the vehicular network technology enable real-time interconnection, data sharing, and intelligent cooperative driving among vehicles. However, malicious vehicles providing illegal and incorrect information can compromise the interests of vehicle users. Trust mechanisms serve as an effective solution to this issue. In recent years, many researchers have incorporated blockchain technology to manage and incentivize vehicle nodes, incurring significant overhead and storage requirements due to the frequent ingress and egress of vehicles within the area. In this paper, we propose a distributed vehicular network scheme based on trust scores. Specifically, the designed architecture partitions multiple More >

Fuzzy Reputation Based Trust Mechanism for Mitigating Attacks in MANET

    S. Maheswari, R. Vijayabhasker*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.3, pp. 3677-3692, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.031422 - 17 August 2022

Abstract Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANET) usage across the globe is increasing by the day. Evaluating a node’s trust value has significant advantages since such network applications only run efficiently by involving trustable nodes. The trust values are estimated based on the reputation values of each node in the network by using different mechanisms. However, these mechanisms have various challenging issues which degrade the network performance. Hence, a novel Quality of Service (QoS) Trust Estimation with Black/Gray hole Attack Detection approach is proposed in this research work. Initially, the QoS-based trust estimation is proposed by using a… More >
