    Gene expression profiling of HepG2 cells after treatment with black tea polyphenols

    Abstract This study aimed to determine the effects of black tea polyphenols on gene expression in hepatocellular cancer cells. The total RNA from HepG2 hepatocellular cancer cells treated with black tea polyphenols was subjected to Human 14K cDNA microarray analysis. Real-time PCR and Western blot analysis were conducted to verify microarray data. Black tea polyphenols treatment at the dose of 20 mg/L, 40 mg/L or 80 mg/L for one to three days inhibited the growth of HepG2 cells in a dose and time dependent manner.     Abstract Trypanosoma rangeli and T. cruzi are both parasitic unicellular species that infect humans. Unlike T. cruzi, the causative agent of Chagas disease, T. rangeli is an infective and non-pathogenic parasite for humans, but pathogenic for vectors from the Rhodnius genus.     Abstract The efficacy and safety of ganglioside in the treatment of neonates who suffer from hypoxic–ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) needs to be fully evaluated. We searched the following databases: PubMed, ScienceDirect, LISTA, CNKI, Chinese biomedical literature database and Wanfang digital journals of full-text database to determine the inclusion and exclusion criteria of papers and a total of 12 papers were included after quality evaluation.     Abstract Specific heat (Cp) and effective thermal conductivity (λ) of native maize starch (NS) were measured by DSC and transient heat transfer method, respectively, at different moisture contents and temperatures.     Abstract Natural fiber-reinforced hybrid composites can be a better replacement for plastic composites since these plastic composites pose a serious threat to the environment. The aim of this study is to analyze the effect of surface modification of the natural fibers on the mechanical, thermal, hygrothermal, and water absorption behaviors of flax, sisal, and glass fiber-reinforced epoxy hybrid composites.
