    Ivan Couée*

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.93, No.11, pp. 2707-2714, 2024, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2024.058101 - 30 November 2024

Abstract The 15-carbon terpenoid abscisic acid (ABA) acts in vascular plants as a versatile hormone playing essential roles in reproductive development, vegetative development and growth, stress-development interactions, and physiological responses to abiotic and biotic stresses. Over the past 60 years, ABA dynamics, regulation, and responses have been progressively characterized: synthesis, transport and translocation, conjugation and deconjugation, metabolism, sensing, signal transduction, and downstream responses. In this context, the discovery of ABA exporters and importers has added novel dimensions to the understanding of ABA regulation. Moreover, since the initial discovery of the adenosine triphosphate-binding cassette (ABC) AtABCG25 exporter… More >

Abstract As the climate worsens and the demand for food grows, so does the interest in nanoagriculture. The interaction between plants and nanomaterials (NMs) has been extensively and intensively examined. However, stopping at the outcome of a phenomenon is often insufficient. Therefore, we introduce three important processes of nanoparticle-plant interactions: translocation, transformation, and plant metabolism. During the migration of nanoparticles, size and surface electrical properties are the main determining factors. Additionally, the interaction of nanoparticles with cell membranes is another key aspect of research. The transformation of nanoparticles in plants is mainly due to redox substances. More >

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.1, pp. 327-337, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.030910 - 29 September 2022

Abstract Climate change is the most serious causes and has a direct impact on biodiversity. According to the world’s biodiversity conservation organization, reptile species are most affected since their biological and ecological qualities are directly linked to climate. Due to a lack of time frame in existing works, conservation adoption affects the performance of existing works. The proposed research presents a knowledge-driven Decision Support System (DSS) including the assisted translocation to adapt to future climate change to conserving from its extinction. The Dynamic approach is used to develop a knowledge-driven DSS using machine learning by applying More >

Improved Dual-image Quality with Reversible Data Hiding Using Translocation and Switching Strategy

    Chin-Feng Lee, Kuo-Chung Chan*

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.44, No.2, pp. 1551-1566, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.026294 - 15 June 2022

Abstract Dual-image reversible data hiding (RDH) is a technique for hiding important messages. This technology can be used to safely deliver secret messages to the recipient through dual images in an open network without being easily noticed. The recipient of the image must receive the two stego-images before the secret message can be completely retrieved. Imperceptibility is one of the main advantages of data hiding technology; to increase the imperceptibility, the quality requirements of the stego-images are relatively important. A dual steganographic image RDH method, called a DS-CF scheme that can achieve a better steganographic image… More >

Abstract Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), which includes Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, has a not yet completely defined aetiology and is characterized by a progressive chronic inflammation that involves nitroxidative stress and dysbiosis. Extraintestinal manifestations can occur and affect several organs, including the liver and bile ducts, joints, skin, eyes, and less frequently, the heart, brain, and kidneys, increasing the risk of morbidity and mortality. These repercussions may be associated with the activity or severity of IBD. The present review proposes to report and analyse the participation of dysbiosis and nitroxidative stress in the genesis of More >

    Atif Kamil1, Mubarak Ali Khan1, Muhammad AAsim2, Nadir Zaman Khan2, Raham Sher Khan1, Muhsin Jamal3, Waqar Ahmad4, Mir Azam Khan4, Fazal Jalil4

    BIOCELL, Vol.43, No.3, pp. 167-174, 2019, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2019.06729

Abstract Several toxic compounds are known to induce apoptosis in mammalian cell lines. The human neuroblastoma cells (SH-SY5Y) were exposed to the phosphatase inhibiting toxin okadaic acid (OA) or hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) to induce apoptosis as well as generate reactive oxygen species (ROS). Mitoxantrone (MXT) was used as a positive control for apoptosis. The SH-SY5Y cells were transfected with eukaryotic expression plasmid pHyPer-dMito encoding mitochondrial-targeted fluorescent or pHyPer-dCito encoding cytoplasmic-targeted fluorescent sensor for hydrogen peroxide (HyPer). The ERp57, also called GRP58 (Glucose-regulated protein 58), is a stress protein induced in conditions like glucose starvation and More >

ETV6/FLT3 Fusion Is a Novel Client Protein of Hsp90

Bui Thi Kim Ly*, Hoang Thanh Chi†‡

    Oncology Research, Vol.26, No.8, pp. 1201-1205, 2018, DOI:10.3727/096504018X15154104709325

Abstract FMS-like tyrosine kinase-3 fragments from exon 14 to the end without any mutations or deletions have been reported to fuse to ETV6 (TEL) in a few cases of myeloid/lymphoid neoplasms with eosinophilia carrying a translocation t(12;13)(p13;q12). This fusion protein confers constitutive activation on the FLT3 fragment and induces factor-independent growth in transfected Ba/F3 cells, indicating that it is an oncoprotein. However, the mechanism controlling the stability of this oncoprotein is unknown. In this study, we focus on finding factors controlling the stability of ETV6/FLT3. We have shown that the stability of ETV6/FLT3 is regulated by… More >

Long Noncoding RNA PVT1 Facilitates Cervical Cancer Progression via Negative Regulating of miR-424

    Ya-Li Gao*1, Zi-Shen Zhao†1, Ming-Yun Zhang*, Li-Jie Han*, Yu-Jin Dong, Bo Xu

    Oncology Research, Vol.25, No.8, pp. 1391-1398, 2017, DOI:10.3727/096504017X14881559833562

Abstract Emerging evidence suggests that the long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) plasmacytoma variant translocation 1 (PVT1) gene is involved in the pathogenesis of cervical cancer. However, the potential mechanism is rarely reported. Our study found that PVT1 was upregulated in cervical cancer tissue and cell lines. After transfecting PVT1 siRNA, the proliferation, migration, and invasion of cervical cancer cells were markedly decreased. miRNA expression profiles demonstrate that miR-424 was markedly downregulated in cervical cancer tissue. Bioinformatics analysis revealed that miR-424 was potentially targeted by PVT1, which was confirmed by dual-luciferase reporter assay. Pearson’s correlation analysis showed that More >
