    Abstract A greyscale-based fully automatic deformable image registration algorithm, based on an optical flow method together with geometric smoothing, is developed for dynamic lung modeling and tumor tracking. In our computational processing pipeline, the input data is a set of 4D CT images with 10 phases. The triangle mesh of the lung model is directly extracted from the more stable exhale phase (Phase 5). In addition, we represent the lung surface model in 3D volumetric format by applying a signed distance function and then generate tetrahedral meshes.     Abstract Upon severe DNA damage, p21 acts in a dual mode; on the one hand, it inhibits the cyclin-CDK complex for arresting the G2/M transition and on the other hand, it indirectly becomes an apoptotic factor by activating - in sequence - the retinoblastoma protein, E2F1 and APAF1 expressions. But, in a cancer cells proliferation, the mechanisms of, and participants in, the apoptosis failure remain unclear.     Abstract In this paper, a trajectory planning-based energy-optimal method is proposed to reduce the energy consumption of novel electromagnetic valve train (EMVT). Firstly, an EMVT optimization model based on state equation was established. Then, the Gauss pseudospectral method (GPM) was used to plan energy-optimal trajectory. And a robust feedforward-feedback tracking controller based on inverse system method is proposed to track the energy-optimal trajectory.     Abstract The shift of the camera leads to unsteadiness of backgrounds in video sequences. The motion of camera will results in mixture of backgrounds and foregrounds motion.     Abstract A new formulation for tracking multiple particles in slow viscous flow for microfluidic applications is presented. The method employs the manipulation of the boundary element matrices so that finally a system of equations is obtained relating the rigid body velocities of the particle to the forces applied on the particle.     Abstract We show that the problem "real-time numerical differentiation" of a given noisy signal in time, by supplementing a compensated controller in the second-order robust exact differentiator, the tracking differentiator or the continuous hybrid differentiator, can be viewed as a set of differential algebraic equations (DAEs) to enhance a precise tracking of the given noisy signal.
