Adaptive Reversible Visible Watermarking Based on Total Variation for BTC-Compressed Images

    Hengfu Yang1,2,*, Mingfang Jiang1,2, Zhichen Gao3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.74, No.3, pp. 5173-5189, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.034819 - 28 December 2022

Abstract Few previous Reversible Visible Watermarking (RVW) schemes have both good transparency and watermark visibility. An adaptive RVW scheme that integrates Total Variation and visual perception in Block Truncation Coding (BTC) compressed domain, called TVB-RVW is proposed in this paper. A new mean image estimation method for BTC-compressed images is first developed with the help of Total Variation. Then, a visual perception factor computation model is devised by fusing texture and luminance characteristics. An adaptive watermark embedding strategy is used to embed the visible watermark with the effect of the visual perception factor in the BTC More >

    A Hybrid Regularization-Based Multi-Frame Super-Resolution Using Bayesian Framework

    Mahmoud M. Khattab1,2,*, Akram M Zeki1, Ali A. Alwan3, Belgacem Bouallegue2, Safaa S. Matter4, Abdelmoty M. Ahmed2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.44, No.1, pp. 35-54, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.025251 - 01 June 2022

Abstract The prime purpose for the image reconstruction of a multi-frame super-resolution is to reconstruct a higher-resolution image through incorporating the knowledge obtained from a series of relevant low-resolution images, which is useful in numerous fields. Nevertheless, super-resolution image reconstruction methods are usually damaged by undesirable restorative artifacts, which include blurring distortion, noises, and stair-casing effects. Consequently, it is always challenging to achieve balancing between image smoothness and preservation of the edges inside the image. In this research work, we seek to increase the effectiveness of multi-frame super-resolution image reconstruction by increasing the visual information and… More >

Multiquadric Radial Basis Function Approximation Scheme for Solution of Total Variation Based Multiplicative Noise Removal Model

    Mushtaq Ahmad Khan1,*, Ahmed B. Altamimi2, Zawar Hussain Khan3, Khurram Shehzad Khattak3, Sahib Khan4,*, Asmat Ullah3, Murtaza Ali1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.126, No.1, pp. 55-88, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2021.011163 - 22 December 2020

Abstract This article introduces a fast meshless algorithm for the numerical solution nonlinear partial differential equations (PDE) by Radial Basis Functions (RBFs) approximation connected with the Total Variation (TV)-based minimization functional and to show its application to image denoising containing multiplicative noise. These capabilities used within the proposed algorithm have not only the quality of image denoising, edge preservation but also the property of minimization of staircase effect which results in blocky effects in the images. It is worth mentioning that the recommended method can be easily employed for nonlinear problems due to the lack of More >

A Novel Universal Steganalysis Algorithm Based on the IQM and the SRM

    Yu Yang1,2,*, Yuwei Chen1,2, Yuling Chen2, Wei Bi3,4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.56, No.2, pp. 261-272, 2018, DOI:10.3970/cmc.2018.02736

Abstract The state-of-the-art universal steganalysis method, spatial rich model (SRM), and the steganalysis method using image quality metrics (IQM) are both based on image residuals, while they use 34671 and 10 features respectively. This paper proposes a novel steganalysis scheme that combines their advantages in two ways. First, filters used in the IQM are designed according to the models of the SRM owning to their strong abilities for detecting the content adaptive steganographic methods. In addition, a total variant (TV) filter is also used due to its good performance of preserving image edge properties during filtering.… More >

Application of Numerical Methods to Elasticity Imaging

Benjamin Castaneda, Juvenal Ormachea, Paul Rodríguez, Kevin J. Parker§

    Molecular & Cellular Biomechanics, Vol.10, No.1, pp. 43-65, 2013, DOI:10.3970/mcb.2013.010.043

Abstract Elasticity imaging can be understood as the intersection of the study of biomechanical properties, imaging sciences, and physics. It was mainly motivated by the fact that pathological tissue presents an increased stiffness when compared to surrounding normal tissue. In the last two decades, research on elasticity imaging has been an international and interdisciplinary pursuit aiming to map the viscoelastic properties of tissue in order to provide clinically useful information. As a result, several modalities of elasticity imaging, mostly based on ultrasound but also on magnetic resonance imaging and optical coherence tomography, have been proposed and… More >
