Fixed-Time Adaptive Time-Varying Matrix Projective Synchronization of Time-Delayed Chaotic Systems with Different Dimensions

    Peng Zheng1, Xiaozhen Guo2,*, Guoguang Wen3

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.131, No.3, pp. 1451-1463, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.019769 - 19 April 2022

Abstract This paper deals with the fixed-time adaptive time-varying matrix projective synchronization (ATVMPS) of different dimensional chaotic systems (DDCSs) with time delays and unknown parameters. Firstly, to estimate the unknown parameters, adaptive parameter updated laws are designed. Secondly, to realize the fixed-time ATVMPS of the time-delayed DDCSs, an adaptive delay-unrelated controller is designed, where time delays of chaotic systems are known or unknown. Thirdly, some simple fixed-time ATVMPS criteria are deduced, and the rigorous proof is provided by employing the inequality technique and Lyapunov theory. Furthermore, the settling time of fixed-time synchronization (Fix-TS) is obtained, which More >

Robust Optimal Proportional–Integral Controller for an Uncertain Unstable Delay System: Wind Process Application

    Rihem Farkh1,2, Yasser Fouad1,*, Haykel Marouani1

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.30, No.3, pp. 837-851, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.018214 - 20 August 2021

Abstract In industrial practice, certain processes are unstable, such as different types of reactors, distillation columns, and combustion systems. To ensure greater maneuverability and improve the speed of response command, certain systems in the military and aviation fields are purposely configured to be unstable. These systems are often more difficult to control than stable systems and are of particular interest to designers and control engineers. Despite all advances in process control over the past six decades, the proportional–integral–derivative (PID) controller is still the most common. The main reasons are the simplicity, robustness, and successful applications provided… More >

Optimal Robust Control for Unstable Delay System

    Rihem Farkh1,2,*, Khaled A. Aljaloud1, Moufida Ksouri2, Faouzi Bouani2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.36, No.2, pp. 307-321, 2021, DOI:10.32604/csse.2021.014334 - 05 January 2021

Abstract Proportional-Integral-Derivative control system has been widely used in industrial applications. For uncertain and unstable systems, tuning controller parameters to satisfy the process requirements is very challenging. In general, the whole system’s performance strongly depends on the controller’s efficiency and hence the tuning process plays a key role in the system’s response. This paper presents a robust optimal Proportional-Integral-Derivative controller design methodology for the control of unstable delay system with parametric uncertainty using a combination of Kharitonov theorem and genetic algorithm optimization based approaches. In this study, the Generalized Kharitonov Theorem (GKT) for quasi-polynomials is employed… More >

Design of an Observer-Based Controller for T-S Fuzzy Time-Delay Systems under Imperfect Premise Matching

    Zejian Zhang1, Dawei Wang2,*, Peng Li1, Xiao-Zhi Gao3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.26, No.5, pp. 905-915, 2020, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2020.010123

Abstract In this paper, the stabilization problem of an observer-based T-S fuzzy time-delay system under imperfect premise matching is studied, in which the T-S fuzzy observer model with time-delay and the fuzzy controller do not share the same membership functions. The objective is to design a state observer and unmatching fuzzy controller such that the closed-loop system with time-delay is asymptotically stable. A sufficient condition for the stabilization via observerbased state feedback under imperfect premise matching is presented, and an observer-based state feedback controller under imperfect premise is also constructed. The proposed control scheme is well More >
