Use of Hybrid-PINNs for Fast Predictions of Transport Structures in the Cz-Melt in Growth of Bulk Silicon Single Crystals

    Yasunori Okano1,*, Tsuyoshi Miyamoto1, Sadik Dost2

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.31, No.2, pp. 1-1, 2024, DOI:10.32604/icces.2024.011685

Abstract We have developed a machine learning model, called Hybrid-PINNs (Physics Informed Neural Networks), and applied for fast predictions of transport structures (flow and thermal fields) in the silicon (Si) melt during the Czochralski (Cz) bulk single crystal growth. Si bulk single crystals are mostly grown by the Cz method. For the growth of high-quality Si crystals with this method, it is essential to understand and control these transport structures in the melt. Since the direct observation of such transport fields in the melt during growth is usually impossible, numerical simulations provide a powerful tool for… More >

Three Dimensional Coupling between Elastic and Thermal Fields in the Static Analysis of Multilayered Composite Shells

Salvatore Brischetto*, Roberto Torre, Domenico Cesare

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.136, No.3, pp. 2551-2594, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.026312 - 09 March 2023

Abstract This new work aims to develop a full coupled thermomechanical method including both the temperature profile and displacements as primary unknowns of the model. This generic full coupled 3D exact shell model permits the thermal stress investigation of laminated isotropic, composite and sandwich structures. Cylindrical and spherical panels, cylinders and plates are analyzed in orthogonal mixed curved reference coordinates. The 3D equilibrium relations and the 3D Fourier heat conduction equation for spherical shells are coupled and they trivially can be simplified in those for plates and cylindrical panels. The exponential matrix methodology is used to… More >

THERMAL ELECTRIC ANALYSIS OF 3-D SANDWICH COMPACT BUSBAR WITH CLASS-B AND CLASS-F INSULATION

    B. Gangadhara Raoa,*, K. Elangovanb, K. Hema Chandra Reddya, M. Arulprakasajothic

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.16, pp. 1-8, 2021, DOI:10.5098/hmt.16.15

Abstract In this research, the 3-D coupled thermal electric model analyses on a sandwich bus bar are presented for the comparison of F Class & B Class of insulation. IEC defines the maximum temperature limit at the conductor based on the class of insulation. This paper gives the clarity on the variation on the current density i.e, the size of the conductor by varying the class of insulation. The study is conducted on tin plated 2000 A sandwich busbar system. The sandwich bus bar is made of copper conductors with tin plating and enclosed by an… More >

MEASUREMENTS OF THERMAL FIELD AT STACK EXTREMITIES OF A STANDING WAVE THERMOACOUSTIC HEAT PUMP

Syeda Humaira Tasnima,*, Shohel Mahmudb, Roydon Andrew Frasera

    Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.2, No.1, pp. 1-10, 2011, DOI:10.5098/hmt.v2.1.3006

Abstract In this paper, we experimentally measure the temperature fields at different locations on the stack plate and in the surrounding working fluid in a standing wave thermoacoustic device. The temperature measurements at the stack extremities and at the neighboring gas show axial heat transfer at the stack extremities, as opposed to the hypothesis of a perfectly isolated stack used in the linear thermoacoustic theory. Four different mechanisms of heat transfer are identified at the stack extremities in the present study. This information is necessary for the optimization of the performances of practical thermoacoustic engines. For More >
