HEAT TRANSFER AND FLOW PROFILES IN ROUND TUBE HEAT EXCHANGER EQUIPPED WITH VARIOUS V-RINGS

    Amnart Boonloia, Withada Jedsadaratanachaib,*

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.18, pp. 1-13, 2022, DOI:10.5098/hmt.18.2

Abstract This study numerically investigates pressure loss, heat transfer and thermal efficiency in round tube heat exchangers attached with various types of Vrings. A typical type A V-ring is compared with two types of modified V-rings (type B and C). The impacts of blockage ratios, b/D = 0.05, 0.10, 0.15 and 0.20 for all V-ring types in the turbulent region are discussed (Re = 3000 – 20,000). Flow directions in the round pipe attached with the V-rings are varied. The V-apex setting downstream is referred to as “V-Downstream, while the V-apex setting upstream is referred to More >

THERMAL EFFICIENCY ANALYSIS OF A SINGLE-FLOW SOLAR AIR HEATER WITH DIFFERENT MASS FLOW RATES IN A SMOOTH PLATE

Foued Chabanea,b,*,†, Noureddine Moummia,b, Abdelhafid Brimaa,b, Said Benramachec

    Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.4, No.1, pp. 1-6, 2013, DOI:10.5098/hmt.v4.1.3006

Abstract This paper presents an experimental thermal efficiency analysis for a novel flat plate solar air heater with several mass flow rates. The aims are to review of designed and analyzed a thermal efficiency of flat-plate solar air heaters. The measured parameters were the inlet and outlet temperatures, the absorbing plate temperatures, the ambient temperature, and the solar radiation. Further, the measurements were performed at different values of mass flow rate of air in flow channel duct. After the analysis of the results, the optimal value of efficiency is higher level of mass flow rate equal… More >

MECHANISMS AND APPLICATIONS OF CATALYTIC COMBUSTION OF NATURAL GAS*

Shihong Zhang#, Ning Li, Zhihua Wang

    Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.2, No.3, pp. 1-5, 2011, DOI:10.5098/hmt.v2.3.3004

Abstract This article discussed the thermal efficiency, stability and pollutant emissions characteristics of the combustion of lean natural gas-air mixtures in Pd metal based honeycomb monoliths by means of experiments on a practical burner V. The chemistry at work in the monoliths was then investigated by the stagnation point flow reactor( SPFR), a fundamental experimental reactor. It was found that catalytic combustion inhibited the extent of gas-phase oxidation and increased the surface temperature of homogeneous ignition. According to the applications of catalytic combustion in the condenser boiler, the data of catalytic combustion condenser boiler V were More >
