Abstract This paper discusses the significance and prospects of low altitude small satellite aerial vehicles to ensure smooth aerial-ground communications for next-generation broadband networks. To achieve the generic goals of fifthgeneration and beyond wireless networks, the existing aerial network architecture needs to be revisited. The detailed architecture of low altitude aerial networks and the challenges in resource management have been illustrated in this paper. Moreover, we have studied the coordination between promising communication technologies and low altitude aerial networks to provide robust network coverage. We talk about the techniques that can ensure userfriendly control and monitoring More > Graphic Abstract

Double Deep Q-Network Method for Energy Efficiency and Throughput in a UAV-Assisted Terrestrial Network

    Mohamed Amine Ouamri1,2, Reem Alkanhel3,*, Daljeet Singh4, El-sayed M. El-kenaway5, Sherif S. M. Ghoneim6

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.46, No.1, pp. 73-92, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.034461 - 20 January 2023

Abstract Increasing the coverage and capacity of cellular networks by deploying additional base stations is one of the fundamental objectives of fifth-generation (5G) networks. However, it leads to performance degradation and huge spectral consumption due to the massive densification of connected devices and simultaneous access demand. To meet these access conditions and improve Quality of Service, resource allocation (RA) should be carefully optimized. Traditionally, RA problems are nonconvex optimizations, which are performed using heuristic methods, such as genetic algorithm, particle swarm optimization, and simulated annealing. However, the application of these approaches remains computationally expensive and unattractive… More >

Covert Communication in Integrated High Altitude Platform Station Terrestrial Networks

    Zeke Wu1, Kefeng Guo2,*, Rui Liu1, Shibin Zhu1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.135, No.1, pp. 583-598, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.023093 - 29 September 2022

Abstract In recent years, Internet of Things (IoT) technology has emerged and gradually sprung up. As the needs of large-scale IoT applications cannot be satisfied by the fifth generation (5G) network, wireless communication network needs to be developed into the sixth generation (6G) network. However, with the increasingly prominent security problems of wireless communication networks such as 6G, covert communication has been recognized as one of the most promising solutions. Covert communication can realize the transmission of hidden information between both sides of communication to a certain extent, which makes the transmission content and transmission behavior… More > Graphic Abstract
