Analysis of Air Exchange System Influence on Thermal and Concentration Modes in the Local Working Area under Radiant Heating Conditions

Boris Borisov, Geniy Kuznetsov, Vyacheslav Maksimov*, Tatiana Nagornova, Felix Salikhov

    Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.22, No.6, pp. 1597-1612, 2024, DOI:10.32604/fhmt.2024.056758 - 19 December 2024

Abstract One of the effective options for energy saving in terms of heat costs for the formation of routine thermal conditions of working areas of large-sized industrial premises is the replacement of traditional convective (water) heating systems with systems, the main part of which are gas infrared emitters. But the mass introduction of such systems based on emitters was held back until recently by the lack of scientific and technical foundations for ensuring not only the routine thermal conditions of local working areas, but also ensuring acceptable concentrations of carbon dioxide, which is formed during the… More > Graphic Abstract

Thermal Properties Reconstruction and Temperature Fields in Asphalt Pavements: Inverse Problem and Optimisation Algorithms

    Zhonghai Jiang1, Qian Wang1, Liangbing Zhou2,*, Chun Xiao3

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.6, pp. 1693-1708, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.025270 - 30 January 2023

Abstract A two-layer implicit difference scheme is employed in the present study to determine the temperature distribution in an asphalt pavement. The calculation of each layer only needs four iterations to achieve convergence. Furthermore, in order to improve the calculation accuracy a swarm intelligence optimization algorithm is also exploited to inversely analyze the laws by which the thermal physical parameters of the asphalt pavement materials change with temperature. Using the basic cuckoo and the gray wolf algorithms, an adaptive hybrid optimization algorithm is obtained and used to determine the relationship between the thermal diffusivity of two More >

Using GAN Neural Networks for Super-Resolution Reconstruction of Temperature Fields

    Tao Li1, Zhiwei Jiang1,*, Rui Han2, Jinyue Xia3, Yongjun Ren4

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.1, pp. 941-956, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.029644 - 06 June 2022

Abstract A Generative Adversarial Neural (GAN) network is designed based on deep learning for the Super-Resolution (SR) reconstruction task of temperature fields (comparable to downscaling in the meteorological field), which is limited by the small number of ground stations and the sparse distribution of observations, resulting in a lack of fineness of data. To improve the network’s generalization performance, the residual structure, and batch normalization are used. Applying the nearest interpolation method to avoid over-smoothing of the climate element values instead of the conventional Bicubic interpolation in the computer vision field. Sub-pixel convolution is used instead… More >

3-D Temperature Fields in Laminated Shells Subjected to Thermo-Loads

    Hai Qian1,*, Ding Zhou2, Bin Gu1, Rathnayaka Mudiyanselage D. M. S.3

    Structural Durability & Health Monitoring, Vol.12, No.4, pp. 281-298, 2018, DOI:10.32604/sdhm.2018.04618

Abstract The temperature fields in the laminated shells were studied, including open cylindrical shells and cylindrical shells, according to the thermal theory. Analytical solution of the temperature in the shells with the known temperature on the surfaces was present. The thinning layer approach was introduced to simplify the three-dimensional heat conduction equation. Firstly, the layered shell was divided into N thinner layers. The governing equation was simplified by replacing the variable r by r0 in the center line of every thin layer. The general solutions of temperature satisfying the simplified three-dimensional governing equation in single-layered shell… More >
