    Bin Liu1, Shuai Liang1, Renjie Ding1, Shuguang Li2,*

    Energy Engineering, Vol.121, No.3, pp. 729-746, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.044224 - 27 February 2024

Abstract The application of traditional synchronous measurement methods is limited by frequent fluctuations of electrical signals and complex frequency components in distribution networks. Therefore, it is critical to find solutions to the issues of multifrequency parameter estimation and synchronous measurement estimation accuracy in the complex environment of distribution networks. By utilizing the multifrequency sensing capabilities of discrete Fourier transform signals and Taylor series for dynamic signal processing, a multifrequency signal estimation approach based on HT-IpDFT-STWLS (HIpST) for distribution networks is provided. First, by introducing the Hilbert transform (HT), the influence of noise on the estimation algorithm… More >

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.11, pp. 2891-2905, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.029243 - 18 September 2023

Abstract The properties of droplets produced by existing on-demand injection systems are typically determined by the nozzle diameter, i.e., only droplets with size larger than this diameter can be obtained. To solve this problem, a system for electric field-driven droplet injection and deposition was developed, and the related performances were compared with those of a standard pneumatic system. The results show that the diameter of droplets generated accordingly can be significantly smaller than the nozzle diameter. In particular, the effects of frequency and duty ratio on the number of droplets were studied by assuming microcrystalline wax More > Graphic Abstract

High-Precision Time Delay Estimation Based on Closed-Form Offset Compensation

    Yingying Li1, Hang Jiang1, Lianjie Yu1, Jianfeng Li1,2,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.134, No.3, pp. 2123-2136, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.021407 - 20 September 2022

Abstract To improve the estimation accuracy, a novel time delay estimation (TDE) method based on the closed-form offset compensation is proposed. Firstly, we use the generalized cross-correlation with phase transform (GCC-PHAT) method to obtain the initial TDE. Secondly, a signal model using normalized cross spectrum is established, and the noise subspace is extracted by eigenvalue decomposition (EVD) of covariance matrix. Using the orthogonal relation between the steering vector and the noise subspace, the first-order Taylor expansion is carried out on the steering vector reconstructed by the initial TDE. Finally, the offsets are compensated via simple least More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.70, No.3, pp. 4467-4483, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.019041 - 11 October 2021

    Abstract

Tele health utilizes information and communication mechanisms to convey medical information for providing clinical and educational assistances. It makes an effort to get the better of issues of health service delivery involving time factor, space and laborious terrains, validating cost-efficiency and finer ingress in both developed and developing countries. Tele health has been categorized into either real-time electronic communication, or store-and-forward communication. In recent years, a third-class has been perceived as remote healthcare monitoring or tele health, presuming data obtained via Internet of Things (IOT). Although, tele health data analytics and machine learning have been researched

MTN Optimal Control of SISO Nonlinear Time-varying Discrete-time Systems for Tracking by Output Feedback*

    Hong-Sen Yan1,2, Jiao-Jun Zhang1,2, Qi-Ming Sun1,2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.25, No.3, pp. 487-507, 2019, DOI:10.31209/2018.100000037

Abstract MTN optimal control scheme of SISO nonlinear time-varying discrete-time systems based on multi-dimensional Taylor network (MTN) is proposed to achieve the real-time output tracking control for a given reference signal. Firstly, an ideal output signal is selected and Pontryagin minimum principle adopted to obtain the numerical solution of the optimal control law for the system relative to the ideal output signal, with the corresponding optimal output termed as desired output signal. Then, MTN optimal controller (MTNC) is generated automatically to fit the optimal control law, and the conjugate gradient (CG) method is employed to train… More >

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.86, pp. 181-189, 2017, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2017.86.181

Abstract Two field experiments were carried out in a semiarid region of Argentina over a soybean (Glycine max L. Merrill) field. The sites of study were San Adolfo (39˚ 23’ S, 62˚ 22’ W, 22 m.a.s.l.) and Nueva Roma (38˚ 29’ S, 62˚ 39’ W, 70 m.a.s.l.). Soybeans were planted on Jan 4 (San Adolfo) and Nov 27 (Nueva Roma) in 0.75 m wide rows and at 400000 pl/ha during two consecutive growing seasons. Energy balance and evapotranspiration (ET) were estimated during the reproductive stages from full bloom (R2) to full maturity (R8). In Nueva Roma ET… More >

Abstract In this study, we present a numerical discretisation scheme, based on a direct fully coupled approach and compact integrated radial basis function (CIRBF) approximations, to simulate viscous flows in regular/irregular domains. The governing equations are taken in the primitive form where the velocity and pressure fields are solved in a direct fully coupled approach. Compact local approximations, based on integrated radial basis functions, over 3-node stencils are introduced into the direct fully coupled approach to represent the field variables. The present scheme is verified through the solutions of several problems including Poisson equations, Taylor-Green vortices More >

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.17, No.3, pp. 75-76, 2011, DOI:10.3970/icces.2011.017.075

Abstract In this paper, a modified paradigm of quasi conforming finite element method with truncated polynomial expansions of in-domain displacements and derived expansions of strains is introduced. The purpose is to improve the drawbacks of the traditional one that neglecting the connections between the components of strain and lack of principle in the process of choosing polynomial expansions. Based on the modified framework a four-node quadrilateral flat shell element with complete quadratic polynomials for membrane and bending displacement fields is developed. Numerical tests are carried out for validation of the present element. The results show that More >

    Hsin-Ping Chu1, Cheng-Ying Lo2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.77, No.3&4, pp. 161-172, 2011, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2011.077.161

Abstract This paper presents the application of the differential transform method to solve strongly nonlinear equations with cubic nonlinearities and self-excitation terms. First, the equations are transformed by the differential transform method into the algebra equations in terms of the transformed functions. Secondly, the higher-order transformed functions are calculated in terms of other lower-order transformed functions through the iterative procedure. Finally, the solutions are approximated by the n-th partial sum of the infinite series obtained by the inverse differential transform. Two strongly nonlinear equations with different coefficients and initial conditions are given as illustrative examples. More >
