Efficiency Performances of LVDC Supplies for Residential Building

Anis Ammous*, Ammar Alsaedi, Ahmed N. M. Alahmadi, Fahad Alharbi, Kaiçar Ammous

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.45, No.2, pp. 2171-2186, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.029389 - 03 November 2022

Abstract The Low Voltage Direct Current (LVDC) architecture gives higher benefits over the classic low-voltage alternating current (LVAC) supply concept. LVDC has fewer energy conversion stages, is compatible with renewable energy sources, and is easier to integrate with accumulators. In this paper, an LVDC supply concept is proposed and compared with currently used conventional photovoltaic (PV) systems in terms of efficiency. The new LVDC photovoltaic system behavior is validated using LTspice modeling tool. The findings of this work prove that the concept of LVDC supply is highly attractive when the electricity produced by the photovoltaic is… More >

Sustainable Energy Management with Traffic Prediction Strategy for Autonomous Vehicle Systems

    Manar Ahmed Hamza1,*, Masoud Alajmi2, Jaber S. Alzahrani3, Siwar Ben Haj Hassine4, Abdelwahed Motwakel1, Ishfaq Yaseen1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.72, No.2, pp. 3465-3479, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.026066 - 29 March 2022

Abstract Recent advancements of the intelligent transportation system (ITS) provide an effective way of improving the overall efficiency of the energy management strategy (EMSs) for autonomous vehicles (AVs). The use of AVs possesses many advantages such as congestion control, accident prevention, and etc. However, energy management and traffic flow prediction (TFP) still remains a challenging problem in AVs. The complexity and uncertainties of driving situations adequately affect the outcome of the designed EMSs. In this view, this paper presents novel sustainable energy management with traffic flow prediction strategy (SEM-TPS) for AVs. The SEM-TPS technique applies type More >

Industrial and Small-Scale Biomass Dryers: An Overview

    P. Murugan1, S. Dhanushkodi2,*, K. Sudhakar3,4,*, Vincent H. Wilson5

    Energy Engineering, Vol.118, No.3, pp. 435-446, 2021, DOI:10.32604/EE.2021.013491 - 22 March 2021

Abstract The quality of the drying process depends mainly on the efficient use of thermal energy. Sustainable systems based on solar energy takes a leading role in the drying of agro-products because of low operating cost. However, they are limited in use during off–sun periods. Biomass dryer is one of the simplest ways of drying because of its potential to dry products regardless of time and climate conditions. The other benefit is that crop residues could be used as fuel in these systems. However, the major limitation of the dryer is unequal drying because of poor More >
