Influence of the Channel Design on the Heat Exchange Characteristics of Pulsating Flows in the Supply System of an Engine

Leonid Plotnikov*, Danil Davydov, Dmitry Krasilnikov, Vladislav Shurupov

    Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.22, No.5, pp. 1309-1322, 2024, DOI:10.32604/fhmt.2024.056680 - 30 October 2024

Abstract Heat engines based on reciprocating machines remain in demand as energy converters in a variety of industries around the world. The aim of the study was to evaluate the gas-dynamic, consumable and heat exchange characteristics of non-stationary air flows in a supply system with transverse profiling of valve channels based on experimental studies. Valve channels with cross sections in the form of a circle, square and triangle were used to control the consumable and heat exchange characteristics of the flows in the supply system of the reciprocating-engine model. The article presents data on changes in… More >

    Chunxue Gao1,*, Yu Hao1, Qiuxin Liu1,2

    Energy Engineering, Vol.118, No.3, pp. 667-678, 2021, DOI:10.32604/EE.2021.014703 - 22 March 2021

Abstract Based on the characteristics of sewage from beauty salons, a simulation model of a small sewage source heat pump triple supply system that can be applied to such places is established to optimize the operating conditions of the system. The results show that with the increase of sewage temperature and flow, the performance of the system also increases. In summer conditions, the system provides cooling, recovers waste heat and condensed heat from sewage, with a COP value of 8.97; in winter conditions, the system heats and produces hot water, with a COP value of 2.44; More >

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.12, No.1, pp. 9-10, 2009, DOI:10.3970/icces.2009.012.009

Abstract In this paper, the three-dimensional model of a servo valve working in the fuel supply system of auxiliary power unit (APU) for the gas turbine engine is studied with numerical simulation of multiphysical system. The physics of electromagnetics, structural dynamics, and fluid dynamics are expressed in the form of independent system of partial differential equations, respectively. A commercial code named COMSOL is used to simulate the essential physics of the servo valve system, and the extracted data is used for the simulation of entire servo valve, which is coupled with torque motor, bushing tube, and More >
