    Pudhari Srilatha1, Ahmed M. Hassan2, B. Shankar Goud3,*, E. Ranjit Kumar4

    Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.21, pp. 539-562, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fhmt.2023.043023 - 30 November 2023

Abstract The purpose of this research is to investigate the influence that slip boundary conditions have on the rate of heat and mass transfer by examining the behavior of micropolar MHD flow across a porous stretching sheet. In addition to this, the impacts of thermal radiation and viscous dissipation are taken into account. With the use of various computing strategies, numerical results have been produced. Similarity transformation was utilized in order to convert the partial differential equations (PDEs) that regulated energy, rotational momentum, concentration, and momentum into ordinary differential equations (ODEs). As compared to earlier published… More > Graphic Abstract

    Hammad Alotaibi1,*, Saeed Althubiti1, Mohamed R. Eid2,3, K. L. Mahny4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.66, No.1, pp. 229-245, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.012234 - 30 October 2020

Abstract This paper introduces the effect of heat absorption (generation) and suction (injection) on magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) boundary-layer flow of Casson nanofluid (CNF) via a non-linear stretching surface with the viscous dissipation in two dimensions. By utilizing the similarity transformations, the leading PDEs are transformed into a set of ODEs with adequate boundary conditions and then resolved numerically by (4–5)th-order Runge-Kutta Fehlberg procedure based on the shooting technique. Numerical computations are carried out by Maple 15 software. With the support of graphs, the impact of dimensionless control parameters on the nanoparticle concentration profiles, the temperature, and the flow… More >

EFFECTS OF NON-UNIFORM SLOT SUCTION/INJECTION AND CHEMICAL REACTION ON MIXED CONVECTIVE MHD FLOW ALONG A VERTICAL WEDGE EMBEDDED IN A POROUS MEDIUM

    M. Ganapathiraoa,∗ , Ali J. Chamkhab, N. Srinivasa Raoc

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.13, pp. 1-13, 2019, DOI:10.5098/hmt.13.15

Abstract In this investigation, our objective is to study the effect of non-uniform slot suction or injection into a steady mixed convective MHD boundary layer flow over a vertical wedge embedded in a porous medium in the presence of chemical reaction. The wall of the wedge is embedded in a uniform porous medium in order to allow possible fluid wall suction or injection. The surface of the wedge is maintained at a variable wall temperature and concentration. The fluid is assumed to be viscous, incompressible and electrically conducting; and the magnetic field is applied transversally in… More >

MHD FLOW IN A CIRCULAR HORIZONTAL PIPE UNDER HEAT SOURCE/SINK WITH SUCTION/INJECTION ON WALL

    G. Nagarajua,∗ , Mahesh Garvandhab, J.V. Ramana Murthyc

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.13, pp. 1-8, 2019, DOI:10.5098/hmt.13.6

Abstract This paper analyzes a hypothesis of the 2−dimensional thermal transport behavior of Newtonian axisymmetric, viscous heating flow in a horizontal pipe. The flow is subjected to an externally applied uniform suction across the pipe wall in the polar direction, a constant magnetic field perpendicular to the wall and a uniform heat source/sink on the surface of the cylinder. The thermal boundary condition is imposed as a uniform heat flux. The Velocity fields are expressed in terms of stream function and the solution is obtained using the homotopy analysis method (HAM). Graphs are designed to analyze More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.8, pp. 1-8, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.8.8

Abstract In this study, a numerical investigation is performed to analyse the flow and heat transfer characteristic of magnetohydrodynamic Casson fluid flow past a semi-infinite stretching surface in the presence of Cattaneo – Christov heat flux and nonlinear thermal radiation. Appropriate transformations are employed to reduce the governing partial differential equations into ordinary differential equations. Further, solutions of the ordinary differential equation are obtained with the aid of Runge- Kutta based shooting technique. The effect of various non- dimensional governing parameters on velocity and temperature fields for suction and injection cases are discussed with the help More >

NON-SIMILAR SOLUTION OF A STEADY COMPRESSIBLE BOUNDARY LAYER FLOW OVER A THIN CYLINDER

    S.V. Subhashinia,* , Nancy Samuelb

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.7, pp. 1-7, 2016, DOI:10.5098/hmt.7.29

Abstract The aim of this paper is to present non-similar solutions of a steady laminar compressible boundary layer flow past a long thin circular cylinder including the effects of wall enthalpy and surface mass transfer. The governing equations along with the boundary conditions are first converted into dimensionless form by a non-similar transformation, and then the resulting system of coupled non-linear partial differential equations is solved by an implicit finite difference scheme in combination with the quasi-linearization technique. The increase in the value of power law variation of viscosity causes an increase in the boundary layer More >

    D. Srinivasacharyaa,*, A.J. Chamkhab, O. Surendera, A.M. Rashadc,d

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.6, pp. 1-7, 2015, DOI:10.5098/hmt.6.19

Abstract The aim of the present article is to analyze the influence of thermal and mass stratification on natural convection heat and mass transfer over a porous vertical plate with uniform and constant wall temperature and concentration in porous medium. The Brinkman-Forchheimer based model is employed to describe the flow in the porous medium. The nonlinear governing equations and their associated boundary conditions are initially cast into dimensionless forms by pseudo-similarity variables. The resulting system of nonlinear, coupled partial differential equations is then solved numerically. The influence of pertinent parameters on the dimensionless velocity, temperature, concentration, More >
