    Peng SUN1, Hongfei LI1, K. Xianbiao2

    Revista Internacional de Métodos Numéricos para Cálculo y Diseño en Ingeniería, Vol.39, No.4, pp. 1-6, 2023, DOI:10.23967/j.rimni.2023.09.006 - 05 October 2023

Abstract The internal solitary waves (ISWs) in the ocean carry huge energy and pose a serious threat to the safety of underwater vehicle. In order to obtain the dynamic response of the submarine under the action of ISWs, the amplified SUBOFF model was placed in a large numerical water tank with 5000×200×500 m dimension in which the water depth was 500 m. The Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) theory was adopted to simulate the generation of ISWs in the two-layer flow, and overset grid technology was used to ensure the grid quality during the submarine movement. The results… More >

Research on Electromagnetic Loss Characteristics of Submarine Cables

    Liuhuo Wang1, Qingcui Liu2, Wenwei Zhu3, Yanru Wang4, Yi Tian4,*, Long Zhao4

    Energy Engineering, Vol.120, No.11, pp. 2651-2666, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.027791 - 31 October 2023

Abstract The electromagnetic losses of submarine cables are mainly caused by the metal shielding layer to prevent the water tree effect and the armor layer that strengthens the strength of the submarine cables. While these losses cause the temperature of submarine cable to rise, and temperature variation will in turn change the conductivity of its metal layer material. In this paper, the electric-magnetic-thermal multi-physical field coupling of the electromagnetic loss variation of the submarine cable is realized by establishing a full coupling system containing Fourier’s law and Maxwell-Ampère’s Law for the photoelectric composite submarine cable. Abstract Utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) to protect smart coastal cities has become a novel vision for scientific and industrial institutions. One of these AI technologies is using efficient and secure multi-environment Unmanned Vehicles (UVs) for anti-submarine attacks. This study’s contribution is the early detection of a submarine assault employing hybrid environment UVs that are controlled using swarm optimization and secure the information in between UVs using a decentralized cybersecurity strategy. The Dragonfly Algorithm is used for the orientation and clustering of the UVs in the optimization approach, and the Re-fragmentation strategy is used in the Network… More >

Numerical investigation of load characteristics by internal solitary wave on submarines in fluids with continuous density change

    Zhiyuan QU1, Anqing LAI1,2, Binbin LIN3

    Revista Internacional de Métodos Numéricos para Cálculo y Diseño en Ingeniería, Vol.38, No.3, pp. 1-13, 2022, DOI:10.23967/j.rimni.2022.09.002 - 15 September 2022

Abstract Internal solitary waves (ISW) often appear in the actual ocean and carry huge energy. In order to study the interaction between the ISW and the underwater objects, considering the variation law of the fluid density along the depth direction in the actual ocean, the numerical calculation model for the ISW and the submarine in the stratified fluid is established based on the Korteweg de Vres (KdV) theory and the RANS method. The load characteristics of the ISW on the submarine are studied by using the overset mesh technology and the VOF method. When the submarine More >

Numerical Simulation on Oil Spilling of Submarine Pipeline and Its Evolution on Sea Surface

    Yi Wang*, Mohan Lin

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.124, No.3, pp. 885-914, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2020.09810 - 21 August 2020

Abstract Due to the interaction and corrosion of the seawater, submarine pipelines are easy to be broken to spill oil. The special environment of subsea restricts the technical development of pipeline maintenance. Therefore, the study on the oil spilling model of submarine pipeline is very important for predicting the movement and diffusion of spilled oil, so that oil spilling traces and relating strategies can be determined. This paper aims to establish an oil spilling model of a submarine pipeline, study the movement characteristics of spilled oil in seawater by numerical simulation, and determine the traces, diffusion… More >

RANS Simulation for the Maneuvering and Control of a Suboff Submarine Model

Jinyu Ren, Dezhi Xu, Jing Xu*

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.16, No.3, pp. 561-572, 2020, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2020.09791 - 25 May 2020

Abstract Submarine maneuverability has been analyzed by means of computational fluid dynamics (CFD). This approach provides an alternative, accurate, and cost-effective method for simulating actual flow. The numerical results show that the numerical simulation of the viscous flow related to a moving submarine based on the RANS equation with a relevant turbulence model can not only provide rich flow field details such as flow separation, but also accurately predict its hydrodynamic performance. The present study indicates that CFD can be used to forecast the submarine’s maneuverability in the initial design stage. The present results will be More >

Development of A New Type of Winch with Steel Armoured Umbilical Cable Used in Submarine Rescue Chamber(SRC) with Mobility

ZHAO Jun-hai, HU Yong, Wang Fang, HOU De-yong

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.19, No.2, pp. 51-52, 2011, DOI:10.3970/icces.2011.019.051

Abstract With the number of submarines increasing rapidly, there are many accidents occurred during submarines’s cruising. Especially the universal attentions to submarine rescue are awaken by the Russian Navy’s second-generation strategic nuclear submarine "Kursk" accident.
One of the important means for submarine rescue is SRC. Since 70th last century abroad, Navy’s submarine rescue armies have been equipped with the SRCs. Entering 21th-century, it is necessary for mating exercises between SRC and disabled submarine(DISSUB) chosen still by Navy’s submarine rescue armies in Navy’s large military drills at home and abroad. The dedicated mating platforms for the SRCs… More >
