    Heping Hou1, Yang Yue1,*, Jian Liu1, Darun Xi2, Shanhui Liu1

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.11, No.1, pp. 273-289, 2023, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2023.021167 - 10 August 2022

Abstract Environmental contamination has been caused by petroleum-based polymeric materials in the melt deposition process. Nowadays biodegradable materials have been widely used in the fused deposition modeling (FDM) industry, such as polylactic acid (PLA). However, internal complex thermal stress and deformations in part caused by an uneven distribution of PLA filament deposition temperatures during FDM, which will seriously affect the geometric accuracy of the printed part. In order to reduce material waste and environmental pollution during the printing process, the accuracy of PLA part can be improved. Herein, numerical simulation was carried out to investigate the… More >

Xue Feng Yao, Yin Ji Ma, Wen Feng Hao, Yu Chao Ke, Dai Ning Fang

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.17, No.2, pp. 51-52, 2011, DOI:10.3970/icces.2011.017.051

Abstract In this paper, some applications of residual stress measurement in engineering material and structures are introduced. First, some advanced measurement technologies are described like drill hole, residual strain gauge and digital image correlations. Second, the manufacture stresses are explained. Finally, the typical measurement results about the manufacture stress are provided, including: residual stress of integrated composite T-section structures, residual stress of adhesive joint, residual stress of bending tube, residual stress of fiber interface. These results will play an important role in designing and evaluating of advanced material and structure. More >

    ABSTRACT

Residual Stress Measurement of Thermal Barrier Coatings

Jianguo Zhu, Huimin Xie, Fulong Dai

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.17, No.1, pp. 3-4, 2011, DOI:10.3970/icces.2011.017.003

Abstract Thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) are widely used in turbines for propulsion and power generation. During build up the coatings, the continuity of the strain at the interface results in the residual stress because of the thermal expansion misfit. Since the formation of residual stresses cannot be avoided, they have to be optimized by adaptation of the process parameters during coating manufacturing. Therefore, in order to obtain information about the characterization of residual stresses for specific process conditions, the development of residual stress measurement is of vital importance.

In this paper, several techniques on residual stress More >
