Adaptive Extended Isogeometric Analysis for Steady-State Heat Transfer in Heterogeneous Media

    Weihua Fang1, Tiantang Yu2,*, Yin Yang3

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.126, No.3, pp. 1315-1332, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2021.014575 - 19 February 2021

Abstract Steady-state heat transfer problems in heterogeneous solid are simulated by developing an adaptive extended isogeometric analysis (XIGA) method based on locally refined non-uniforms rational B-splines (LR NURBS). In the XIGA, the LR NURBS, which have a simple local refinement algorithm and good description ability for complex geometries, are employed to represent the geometry and discretize the field variables; and some special enrichment functions are introduced into the approximation of temperature field, thus the computational mesh is independent of the material interfaces, which are described with the level set method. Similar to the approximation of temperature… More >

Study on Thermal Insulation Performance of Cross-Laminated Bamboo Wall

    Qingfang Lv1,*, Weiyang Wang1, Ye Liu1

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.7, No.11, pp. 1231-1250, 2019, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2019.08345

Abstract In recent years, bamboo, as a green building material, has attracted more and more attention worldwide. Inspired by the investigation of cross-laminated timber in structural systems, a new engineered cross-laminated bamboo (CLB) consisting of the cross lamination of bamboo scrimber plates is proposed in this paper. To evaluate its potential in structural applications, the thermal insulation performances of the CLB walls and CLB walls with the EPS foam plate were studied and evaluated by the temperature-controlled box-heat flow meter method. Test results indicated that the thermal insulation performance improved with the increase of thickness, but More >

Meshless Local Petrov-Galerkin Mixed Collocation Method for Solving Cauchy Inverse Problems of Steady-State Heat Transfer

    Tao Zhang1,2, Yiqian He3, Leiting Dong4, Shu Li1, Abdullah Alotaibi5, Satya N. Atluri2,5

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.97, No.6, pp. 509-533, 2014, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2014.097.509

Abstract In this article, the Meshless Local Petrov-Galerkin (MLPG) Mixed Collocation Method is developed to solve the Cauchy inverse problems of Steady- State Heat Transfer In the MLPG mixed collocation method, the mixed scheme is applied to independently interpolate temperature as well as heat flux using the same meshless basis functions The balance and compatibility equations are satisfied at each node in a strong sense using the collocation method. The boundary conditions are also enforced using the collocation method, allowing temperature and heat flux to be over-specified at the same portion of the boundary. For the… More >
