    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.77, No.1, pp. 139-160, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.043424 - 31 October 2023

Abstract In today’s information society, image encryption technology is crucial to protecting Internet security. However, traditional image encryption algorithms have problems such as insufficient chaotic characteristics, insufficient randomness of keys, and insecure Ribonucleic Acid (RNA) encoding. To address these issues, a chaos-RNA encryption scheme that combines chaotic maps and RNA encoding was proposed in this research. The initial values and parameters of the chaotic system are first generated using the Secure Hash Algorithm 384 (SHA-384) function and the plaintext image. Next, the Lü hyperchaotic system sequence was introduced to change the image’s pixel values to realize… More > Graphic Abstract

Abstract Information security has emerged as a key problem in encryption because of the rapid evolution of the internet and networks. Thus, the progress of image encryption techniques is becoming an increasingly serious issue and considerable problem. Small space of the key, encryption-based low confidentiality, low key sensitivity, and easily exploitable existing image encryption techniques integrating chaotic system and DNA computing are purposing the main problems to propose a new encryption technique in this study. In our proposed scheme, a three-dimensional Chen’s map and a one-dimensional Logistic map are employed to construct a double-layer image encryption… More >

Abstract In the Digital World scenario, the confidentiality of information in video transmission plays an important role. Chaotic systems have been shown to be effective for video signal encryption. To improve video transmission secrecy, compressive encryption method is proposed to accomplish compression and encryption based on fractional order hyper chaotic system that incorporates Compressive Sensing (CS), pixel level, bit level scrambling and nucleotide Sequences operations. The measurement matrix generates by the fractional order hyper chaotic system strengthens the efficiency of the encryption process. To avoid plain text attack, the CS measurement is scrambled to its pixel… More >

Abstract As the amount of medical images transmitted over networks and kept on online servers continues to rise, the need to protect those images digitally is becoming increasingly important. However, due to the massive amounts of multimedia and medical pictures being exchanged, low computational complexity techniques have been developed. Most commonly used algorithms offer very little security and require a great deal of communication, all of which add to the high processing costs associated with using them. First, a deep learning classifier is used to classify records according to the degree of concealment they require. Medical… More >

Efficient Medical Image Encryption Framework against Occlusion Attack

    May A. Al-Otaibi1,*, Hesham Alhumyani1, Saleh Ibrahim2, Alaa M. Abbas2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.34, No.3, pp. 1523-1536, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.026161 - 25 May 2022

Abstract Image encryption has attracted a lot of interest as an important security application for protecting confidential image data against unauthorized access. An adversary with the power to manipulate cipher image data can crop part of the image out to prevent decryption or render the decrypted image useless. This is known as the occlusion attack. In this paper, we address a vulnerability to the occlusion attack identified in the medical image encryption framework recently proposed in []. We propose adding a pixel scrambling phase to the framework and show through simulation that the extended framework effectively More >

    Xintao Duan1,*, Zhiqiang Shao1, Wenxin Wang1, En Zhang1, Dongli Yue1, Chuan Qin2, Haewoon Nam3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.72, No.3, pp. 5363-5375, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.027807 - 21 April 2022

Abstract At present, the image steganography method based on CNN has achieved good results. The trained model and its parameters are of great value. Once leaked, the secret image will be exposed. To protect the security of steganographic network model parameters in the transmission process, an idea based on network model parameter scrambling is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the sender trains the steganography network and extraction network, encrypts the extraction network parameters with the key shared by the sender and the receiver, then sends the extraction network and parameters to the receiver through the public… More >

Abstract In recent years information hiding has got much attention as it acts as an alternate option for secured communication. The Secret content would get imbedded with the image using various possible image embodiment techniques, in which the Least Significant Bit (LSB) substitution is one of the preferred content embodiment strategy; however, asserting the quality and the originality of the content embedded image (stego) is yet a grievous concern in the field of Information Security. In this article, a proficient Scrambling Based Haar Wavelet Transform (SBHWT) approach has been sought to ensure the novelty of the… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.65, No.3, pp. 2623-2638, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.09723 - 16 September 2020

Abstract Reversible data hiding in encrypted images (RDH-EI) technology is widely used in cloud storage for image privacy protection. In order to improve the embedding capacity of the RDH-EI algorithm and the security of the encrypted images, we proposed a reversible data hiding algorithm for encrypted images based on prediction and adaptive classification scrambling. First, the prediction error image is obtained by a novel prediction method before encryption. Then, the image pixel values are divided into two categories by the threshold range, which is selected adaptively according to the image content. Multiple high-significant bits of pixels More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.56, No.2, pp. 299-312, 2018, DOI:10.3970/cmc.2018.03179

Abstract To improve the security and quality of decrypted images, this work proposes a reversible data hiding in encrypted image based on iterative recovery. The encrypted image is firstly generated by the pixel classification scrambling and bit-wise exclusive-OR (XOR), which improves the security of encrypted images. And then, a pixel-type-mark generation method based on block-compression is designed to reduce the extra burden of key management and transfer. At last, an iterative recovery strategy is proposed to optimize the marked decrypted image, which allows the original image to be obtained only using the encryption key. The proposed More >
