Abstract A compact, reconfigurable antenna supporting multiple wireless services with a minimum number of switches is found lacking in literature and the same became the focus and outcome of this work. It was achieved by designing a Th-Shaped frequency reconfigurable multi-band microstrip planar antenna, based on use of a single switch within the radiating structure of the antenna. Three frequency bands (i.e., 2007–2501 MHz, 3660–3983 MHz and 9341–1046 MHz) can be operated with the switch in the ON switch state. In the OFF state of the switch, the antenna operates within the 2577–3280 MHz and 9379–1033 MHz Bands. The proposed antenna… More >

Abstract Decision-making (DM) is a process in which several persons concurrently engage, examine the problems, evaluate potential alternatives, and select an appropriate option to the problem. Technique for determining order preference by similarity to the ideal solution (TOPSIS) is an established DM process. The objective of this report happens to broaden the approach of TOPSIS to solve the DM issues designed with Hesitancy fuzzy data, in which evaluation evidence given by the experts on possible solutions is presents as Hesitancy fuzzy decision matrices, each of which is defined by Hesitancy fuzzy numbers. Findings: we represent analytical… More >

Robust Authentication and Session Key Agreement Protocol for Satellite Communications

Somayeh Soltani1, Seyed Amin Hosseini Seno1, Juli Rejito2, Rahmat Budiarto3,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.3, pp. 5891-5910, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.023697 - 14 January 2022

Abstract Satellite networks are recognized as the most essential communication infrastructures in the world today, which complement land networks and provide valuable services for their users. Extensive coverage and service stability of these networks have increased their popularity. Since eavesdropping and active intrusion in satellite communications are much easier than in terrestrial networks, securing satellite communications is vital. So far, several protocols have been proposed for authentication and key exchange of satellite communications, but none of them fully meet the security requirements. In this paper, we examine one of these protocols and identify its security vulnerabilities.… More >

Low Profile UHF Antenna Design for Low Earth-Observation CubeSats

    Md. Amanath Ullah1, Touhidul Alam2,3, Ali F. Almutairi4,*, Mohammad Tariqul Islam5

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.2, pp. 2533-2542, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.021852 - 07 December 2021

Abstract This paper reveals a new design of UHF CubeSat antenna based on a modified Planar Inverted F Antenna (PIFA) for CubeSat communication. The design utilizes a CubeSat face as the ground plane. There is a gap of 5 mm beneath the radiating element that facilitates the design providing with space for solar panels. The prototype is fabricated using Aluminum metal sheet and measured. The antenna achieved resonance at 419 MHz. Response of the antenna has been investigated after placing a solar panel. Lossy properties of solar panels made the resonance shift about 20 MHz. This More >
