Path Planning of Multi-Axis Robotic Arm Based on Improved RRT*

    Juanling Liang1, Wenguang Luo1,2,*, Yongxin Qin1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.81, No.1, pp. 1009-1027, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2024.055883 - 15 October 2024

Abstract An improved RRT* algorithm, referred to as the AGP-RRT* algorithm, is proposed to address the problems of poor directionality, long generated paths, and slow convergence speed in multi-axis robotic arm path planning. First, an adaptive biased probabilistic sampling strategy is adopted to dynamically adjust the target deviation threshold and optimize the selection of random sampling points and the direction of generating new nodes in order to reduce the search space and improve the search efficiency. Second, a gravitationally adjustable step size strategy is used to guide the search process and dynamically adjust the step-size to… More >

Amassing the Security: An Enhanced Authentication and Key Agreement Protocol for Remote Surgery in Healthcare Environment

    Tsu-Yang Wu1, Qian Meng1, Lei Yang1, Saru Kumari2, Matin Pirouz3,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.134, No.1, pp. 317-341, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.019595 - 24 August 2022

Abstract The development of the Internet of Things has facilitated the rapid development of various industries. With the improvement in people’s living standards, people’s health requirements are steadily improving. However, owing to the scarcity of medical and health care resources in some areas, the demand for remote surgery has gradually increased. In this paper, we investigate remote surgery in the healthcare environment. Surgeons can operate robotic arms to perform remote surgery for patients, which substantially facilitates successful surgeries and saves lives. Recently, Kamil et al. proposed a secure protocol for surgery in the healthcare environment. However, More >

Intelligent Measurement and Monitoring by Integrating Fieldbus and Robotic Arm

    Wen-Tsai Sung1, Sung-Jung Hsiao2,*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.34, No.3, pp. 1737-1753, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.026055 - 25 May 2022

Abstract In response to the rapid global development of industrial technologies and the resulting rapid growth in the production lines of industry and manufacturing, traditional manufacturing must become intelligent and automated, and undergo the process of informatization. Machines can reduce human errors, replace manpower, and even work better than manpower in certain aspects. Over recent years, the Internet of Things (IoT) has been applied in a wide range of fields. IoT helps control all the production information of factories in real time, and accordingly, reduces labor cost, improves quality, efficiently handles exceptions, and swiftly meets market… More >

Computer Vision Based Robotic Arm Controlled Using Interactive GUI

Muhatasim Intisar1, Mohammad Monirujjaman Khan1,*, Mohammad Rezaul Islam1, Mehedi Masud2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.27, No.2, pp. 533-550, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.015482 - 18 January 2021

Abstract This paper presents the design and implementation of a robotic vision system operated using an interactive Graphical User Interface (GUI) application. As robotics continue to become a more integral part of the industrial complex, there is a need for automated systems that require minimal to no user training to operate. With this motivation in mind, the system is designed so that a beginner user can operate the device with very little instruction. The application allows users to determine their desired object, which will be picked up and placed by a robotic arm into the target… More >
