Abstract Electro-hydraulic proportional valve is the core control valve in many hydraulic systems used in agricultural and engineering machinery. To address the problem related to the large throttling losses and poor stability typically associated with these valves, here, the beneficial effects of a triangular groove structure on the related hydraulic response are studied. A mathematical model of the pressure compensation system based on the power-bond graph method is introduced, and the AMESim software is used to simulate its response. The results show that the triangular groove structure increases the jet angle and effectively compensates for the hydrodynamic force. The steady-state differential… More >

Abstract CAPTCHA is an acronym that stands for Completely Automated Public Turing Test to tell Computers and Humans Apart (CAPTCHA), it is a good example of an authentication system that can be used to determine the true identity of any user. It serves as a security measure to prevent an attack caused by web bots (automatic programs) during an online transaction. It can come as text-based or image-based depending on the project and the programmer. The usability and robustness, as well as level of security, provided each of the varies and call for the development of an improved system. Hence, this… More >

Abstract In cloud computing, the processes of load balancing and task scheduling are major concerns as they are the primary mechanisms responsible for executing tasks by allocating and utilizing the resources of Virtual Machines (VMs) in a more optimal way. This problem of balancing loads and scheduling tasks in the cloud computing scenario can be categorized as an NP-hard problem. This problem of load balancing needs to be efficiently allocated tasks to VMs and sustain the trade-off among the complete set of VMs. It also needs to maintain equilibrium among VMs with the objective of maximizing throughput with a minimized time… More >

Abstract Web service applications are increasing tremendously in support of high-level businesses. There must be a need of better server load balancing mechanism for improving the performance of web services in business. Though many load balancing methods exist, there is still a need for sophisticated load balancing mechanism for not letting the clients to get frustrated. In this work, the server with minimum response time and the server having less traffic volume were selected for the aimed server to process the forthcoming requests. The Servers are probed with adaptive control of time with two thresholds L and U to indicate the… More >

Abstract The human neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cell line has been used as a model to study mechanisms of neurotransmitter release. In order to study the mechanism of SH-SY5Y single cell exocytosis stimulated by different stimulants, including high K+, 3-(1-nitroso-2-pyrrolidinyl) pyridine and nicotine, a type of indium tin oxide (ITO) micro-pore electrode was used to obtain the corresponding amperometric response time. When the cell is stimulated by 0.1 M K+ , almost immediate exocytosis could be detected, due to the rapid depolarization of cell membrane. However, the stimulations with 1 mM nicotine and 3-(1-nitroso-2-pyrrolidinyl) pyridine result in a short delay between stimulation and… More >
