A Systematic Review on the Internet of Medical Things: Techniques, Open Issues, and Future Directions

    Apurva Sonavane1, Aditya Khamparia2,*, Deepak Gupta3

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.137, No.2, pp. 1525-1550, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.028203 - 26 June 2023

Abstract IoT usage in healthcare is one of the fastest growing domains all over the world which applies to every age group. Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) bridges the gap between the medical and IoT field where medical devices communicate with each other through a wireless communication network. Advancement in IoMT makes human lives easy and better. This paper provides a comprehensive detailed literature survey to investigate different IoMT-driven applications, methodologies, and techniques to ensure the sustainability of IoMT-driven systems. The limitations of existing IoMT frameworks are also analyzed concerning their applicability in real-time driven systems More >

Energy and Latency Optimization in Edge-Fog-Cloud Computing for the Internet of Medical Things

    Hatem A. Alharbi1, Barzan A. Yosuf2, Mohammad Aldossary3,*, Jaber Almutairi4

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.47, No.1, pp. 1299-1319, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.039367 - 26 May 2023

Abstract In this paper, the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) is identified as a promising solution, which integrates with the cloud computing environment to provide remote health monitoring solutions and improve the quality of service (QoS) in the healthcare sector. However, problems with the present architectural models such as those related to energy consumption, service latency, execution cost, and resource usage, remain a major concern for adopting IoMT applications. To address these problems, this work presents a four-tier IoMT-edge-fog-cloud architecture along with an optimization model formulated using Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP), with the objective of… More >

Drone for Dynamic Monitoring and Tracking with Intelligent Image Analysis

    Ching-Bang Yao1, Chang-Yi Kao2,*, Jiong-Ting Lin3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.2, pp. 2233-2252, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.034488 - 05 January 2023

Abstract Traditional monitoring systems that are used in shopping malls or community management, mostly use a remote control to monitor and track specific objects; therefore, it is often impossible to effectively monitor the entire environment. When finding a suspicious person, the tracked object cannot be locked in time for tracking. This research replaces the traditional fixed-point monitor with the intelligent drone and combines the image processing technology and automatic judgment for the movements of the monitored person. This intelligent system can effectively improve the shortcomings of low efficiency and high cost of the traditional monitor system.… More >

Chunlei Liu, Tian Gao, Chen Wang, Peiqi Wang, Limin Wang, Yi Wang, Yong Sun*

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.17, No.6, pp. 1179-1193, 2021, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2021.017543 - 08 September 2021

Abstract A remote monitoring system for a secondary heating pipe network is designed on the basis of the KingSCADA software. Remote data communication is implemented through the IP mapping technology. Remote data are sorted through IOServer, and the remote monitoring of the pipe network unit port return is implemented accordingly. Using data such as water temperature and pressure of the water supply and return pipes, valve opening can be remotely adjusted to optimize the performances of the network to meet user needs in real time. The research results show that this remote monitoring system displays a More >
