    Yuanyuan Hao1, Dongye Lyu2, Siyu Zhang1, Bin Guo3,*, Jin Yan4,*

    International Journal of Mental Health Promotion, Vol.26, No.10, pp. 865-873, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ijmhp.2024.055231 - 31 October 2024

Abstract Background: Youth emerge as an essential period in forming lifelong health and well-being. During adolescence, physical activity (PA) improves cardiovascular health, fitness levels, and the prevention of chronic illnesses, and the positive effect is also extended to the mental realm, as PA reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression. Therefore, the current study aims to enhance our understanding of the correlation between sports participation and depressive symptoms. Additionally, it seeks to explore how demographics such as gender, age, and race can shape these connections. Methods: The research sample was established by utilising the U.S. Youth Risk… More >

    Congenital Heart Disease, Vol.19, No.4, pp. 389-397, 2024, DOI:10.32604/chd.2024.055121 - 31 October 2024

Abstract Introduction: Pulmonary hemorrhage (PHm) is a life-threatening complication that can occur after catheter-based interventions in patients with pulmonary vein stenosis (PVS). Inhaled racemic epinephrine (iRE) and tranexamic acid (iTXA) have been used in other conditions, but a standardized approach in PVS has not been described. We aimed to describe the current management of PHm after PVS catheter-based interventions. Methods: We present a retrospective review of episodes of PHm from July 2022 to February 2024. PHm was defined as frank blood suctioned from the endotracheal tube including blood-tinged secretions and >3% decrease in saturations and/or ventilatory… More >

Redefining the tumor microenvironment with emerging therapeutic strategies

    SULING XU1, XIAO LI2, WENXUE MA3,*

    Oncology Research, Vol.32, No.11, pp. 1701-1708, 2024, DOI:10.32604/or.2024.055161 - 16 October 2024

Abstract The environment surrounding a tumor, known as the tumor microenvironment (TME), plays a role in how cancer progresses and responds to treatment. It poses both challenges and opportunities for improving cancer therapy. Recent progress in understanding the TME complexity and diversity has led to approaches for treating cancer. This perspective discusses the strategies for targeting the TME, such as adjusting networks using extracellular vesicles to deliver drugs and enhancing immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIS) through combined treatments. Furthermore, it highlights adoptive cell transfer (ACT) therapies as an option for tumors. By studying how components of the More >

    YUN WANG1, XIAOJIANG LI2, DALONG LIU2, ZHIFENG WANG3, JICHEN XIA4, LIJUN WANG5, XUDONG ZHANG6,*

    Oncology Research, Vol.32, No.10, pp. 1649-1660, 2024, DOI:10.32604/or.2024.043482 - 18 September 2024

Abstract Exosomes, minute vesicles ubiquitously released by diverse cell types, serve as critical mediators in intercellular communication. Their pathophysiological relevance, especially in malignancies, has garnered significant attention. A meticulous exploration of the exosomal impact on cancer development has unveiled avenues for innovative and clinically valuable techniques. The cargo conveyed by exosomes exerts transformative effects on both local and distant microenvironments, thereby influencing a broad spectrum of biological responses in recipient cells. These membrane-bound extracellular vesicles (EVs) play a pivotal role in delivering bioactive molecules among cells and organs. Cellular and biological processes in recipient cells, ranging… More > Graphic Abstract

Digital Soil Mapping (DSM) Using a GIS-Based RF Machine Learning Model: The Case of Strandzha Mountains (Thrace Peninsula, Türkiye)

    Emre Ozsahin1,*, Huseyin Sarı2, Duygu Boyraz Erdem2, Mikayil Ozturk2

    Revue Internationale de Géomatique, Vol.33, pp. 341-361, 2024, DOI:10.32604/rig.2024.054197 - 13 September 2024

Abstract This study assessed and mapped the spatial distribution of soil types and properties developed under the forest cover of the Strandzha Mountains of Türkiye. The study was conducted on a micro-scale in the riparian zone of the Balaban River, which characterizes the soils distributed in the mountainous area. The effect of environmental factors on the spatial distribution of soil types and properties was also determined. To gather data, soil sampling, laboratory analysis, data processing and mapping were sequentially performed. These data were analyzed using the Geographical Information System (GIS) based Random Forest (RF) machine learning… More > Graphic Abstract

FADSF: A Data Sharing Model for Intelligent Connected Vehicles Based on Blockchain Technology

Yan Sun, Caiyun Liu, Jun Li, Yitong Liu*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.80, No.2, pp. 2351-2362, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2024.048903 - 15 August 2024

Abstract With the development of technology, the connected vehicle has been upgraded from a traditional transport vehicle to an information terminal and energy storage terminal. The data of ICV (intelligent connected vehicles) is the key to organically maximizing their efficiency. However, in the context of increasingly strict global data security supervision and compliance, numerous problems, including complex types of connected vehicle data, poor data collaboration between the IT (information technology) domain and OT (operation technology) domain, different data format standards, lack of shared trust sources, difficulty in ensuring the quality of shared data, lack of data… More >

A GAN-EfficientNet-Based Traceability Method for Malicious Code Variant Families

Li Li*, Qing Zhang, Youran Kong

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.80, No.1, pp. 801-818, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2024.051916 - 18 July 2024

Abstract Due to the diversity and unpredictability of changes in malicious code, studying the traceability of variant families remains challenging. In this paper, we propose a GAN-EfficientNetV2-based method for tracing families of malicious code variants. This method leverages the similarity in layouts and textures between images of malicious code variants from the same source and their original family of malicious code images. The method includes a lightweight classifier and a simulator. The classifier utilizes the enhanced EfficientNetV2 to categorize malicious code images and can be easily deployed on mobile, embedded, and other devices. The simulator utilizes… More >

    MINGYUE HUANG1,#, JUNFEI DAI1,#, XIANLIANG ZHONG2, JIN WANG2, JIANZHONG XU2, BO DU2,*

    BIOCELL, Vol.48, No.6, pp. 889-896, 2024, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2024.050097 - 10 June 2024

Abstract Chronic subdural hematoma (CSDH) is a disease characterized by capsuled blood products that progressively occupy the intracranial space, causing intracranial hypertension and compression in the brain. CSDH frequently occurs in all demographics, especially in the elderly, but the pathogenesis of CSDH remains unclear. In this review, we discuss the origin, development, and current treatment strategies of CSDH. For the first time, we analyzed the cellular and molecular compositions of hematoma membranes with a focus on neomembrane formation, a complex early-stage interactive event in hematoma pathogenesis. We hypothesize that in patients with CSDH, dural border cells… More >
