An Effective and Secure Quality Assurance System for a Computer Science Program

    Mohammad Alkhatib*

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.41, No.3, pp. 975-995, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.021398 - 10 November 2021

Abstract Improving the quality assurance (QA) processes and acquiring accreditation are top priorities for academic programs. The learning outcomes (LOs) assessment and continuous quality improvement represent core components of the quality assurance system (QAS). Current assessment methods suffer deficiencies related to accuracy and reliability, and they lack well-organized processes for continuous improvement planning. Moreover, the absence of automation, and integration in QA processes forms a major obstacle towards developing efficient quality system. There is a pressing need to adopt security protocols that provide required security services to safeguard the valuable information processed by QAS as well.… More >

A Successful Framework for the ABET Accreditation of an Information System Program

Waleed Rashideh1,*, Omar Abdullah Alshathry1, Samer Atawneh2, Hussein Al Bazar3, Mohammed Said AbualRub4

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.26, No.6, pp. 1285-1307, 2020, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2020.012995 - 24 December 2020

Abstract Scientific programs in higher educational institutes are measured by their performances in showing evidences for expected quality assurance levels and for obtaining the academic accreditation. However, obtaining an accreditation for a scientific program is a lengthy process, as it requires extensive efforts from all members belonging to the program. The Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accreditation is a common form of quality assurance that is based on different areas such as computing, engineering and sciences. In order to determine the ABET accreditation, several processes and methods are assessed to guarantee the required accreditation. More >

A Dual-spline Approach to Load Error Repair in a HEMS Sensor Network

    Xiaodong Liu1, Qi Liu1,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.57, No.2, pp. 179-194, 2018, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2018.04025

Abstract In a home energy management system (HEMS), appliances are becoming diversified and intelligent, so that certain simple maintenance work can be completed by appliances themselves. During the measurement, collection and transmission of electricity load data in a HEMS sensor network, however, problems can be caused on the data due to faulty sensing processes and/or lost links, etc. In order to ensure the quality of retrieved load data, different solutions have been presented, but suffered from low recognition rates and high complexity. In this paper, a validation and repair method is presented to detect potential failures More >
