Modeling and Control of Parallel Hybrid Electric Vehicle Using Sea-Lion Optimization

    J. Leon Bosco Raj1,*, M. Marsaline Beno2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.2, pp. 1441-1454, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.026211 - 19 July 2022

Abstract This paper develops a parallel hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) proportional integral controller with driving cycle. To improve fuel efficiency and reduce hazardous emissions in hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) combine an electric motor (EM), a battery and an internal combustion engine (ICE). The electric motor assists the engine when accelerating, driving longer highways or climbing hills. This enables the use of a smaller, more efficient engine. It also makes use of the concept of regenerative braking to maximize energy efficiency. In a Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV), energy dissipated while braking is utilized to charge the battery. More >

    Energy Engineering, Vol.117, No.6, pp. 439-452, 2020, DOI:10.32604/EE.2020.011805 - 16 October 2020

Abstract A subsynchronous oscillation suppression strategy based on self-adaptive auto disturbance rejection proportional integral controller is proposed for doublyfed induction generator-based wind farm integrated into grid through voltage source converter based multi-terminal direct current. In this strategy, the nonlinear PI controller is constructed by fal function to replace the traditional linear PI controller, and then the tracking differentiator is used to arrange the appropriate transition process in combination with the idea of active disturbance rejection control, and the self-adaptive auto disturbance rejection proportional integral controller is designed. By applying the controller to the inner loop of the… More >

Design of Smith Predictor Based Fractional Controller for Higher Order Time Delay Process

    P. R. Hemavathy1,*, Y. Mohamed Shuaib2, S. K. Lakshmanaprabu1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.119, No.3, pp. 481-498, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2019.04731

Abstract Normally all real world process in a process industry will have time delay. For those processes with time delays, obtaining satisfactory closed loop performances becomes very difficult. In this work, three interacting cylindrical tank process is considered for study and the objective of the work is to compensate for time delays using smith predictor structure and to maintain the level in the third tank. Input/Output data is generated for the three interacting tank process. It is approximated as Integer First Order Plus Dead Time system (IFOPDT) and Fractional First Order Plus Dead Time system (FFOPDT). More >
