SCIRD: Revealing Infection of Malicious Software in Edge Computing-Enabled IoT Networks

Jiehao Ye, Wen Cheng, Xiaolong Liu, Wenyi Zhu, Xuan’ang Wu, Shigen Shen*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.79, No.2, pp. 2743-2769, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2024.049985

Abstract The Internet of Things (IoT) has characteristics such as node mobility, node heterogeneity, link heterogeneity, and topology heterogeneity. In the face of the IoT characteristics and the explosive growth of IoT nodes, which brings about large-scale data processing requirements, edge computing architecture has become an emerging network architecture to support IoT applications due to its ability to provide powerful computing capabilities and good service functions. However, the defense mechanism of Edge Computing-enabled IoT Nodes (ECIoTNs) is still weak due to their limited resources, so that they are susceptible to malicious software spread, which can compromise… More >

Deep Learning Applications for COVID-19 Analysis: A State-of-the-Art Survey

    Wenqian Li1, Xing Deng1,2,*, Haijian Shao1, Xia Wang3

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.129, No.1, pp. 65-98, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2021.016981

Abstract The COVID-19 has resulted in catastrophic situation and the deaths of millions of people all over the world. In this paper, the predictions of epidemiological propagation models, such as SIR and SEIR, are introduced to analyze the earlier COVID-19 propagation. The deep learning methods combined with transfer learning are familiar with classification-detection approaches based on chest X-ray and CT images are presented in detail. Besides, deep learning approaches have also been applied to lung ultrasound (LUS), which has been shown to be more sensitive than chest X-ray and CT images in detecting COVID-19. In the… More > Graphic Abstract

Wave Propagation Model in a Human Long Poroelastic Bone under Effect of Magnetic Field and Rotation

    A. M. Abd-Alla1,*, Hanaa Abu-Zinadah2, S. M. Abo-Dahab3, J. Bouslimi4,5, M. Omri6

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.68, No.2, pp. 1485-1504, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.012586

Abstract This article is aimed at describing the way rotation and magnetic field affect the propagation of waves in an infinite poroelastic cylindrical bone. It offers a solution with an exact closed form. The authors got and examined numerically the general frequency equation for poroelastic bone. Moreover, they calculated the frequencies of poroelastic bone for different values of the magnetic field and rotation. Unlike the results of previous studies, the authors noticed little frequency dispersion in the wet bone. The proposed model will be applicable to wide-range parametric projects of bone mechanical response. Examining the vibration More >

Numerical Simulations for Stochastic Computer Virus Propagation Model

    Muhammad Shoaib Arif1, *, Ali Raza1, Muhammad Rafiq2, Mairaj Bibi3, Javeria Nawaz Abbasi3, Amna Nazeer3, Umer Javed4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.62, No.1, pp. 61-77, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.08595

Abstract We are presenting the numerical simulations for the stochastic computer virus propagation model in this manuscript. We are comparing the solutions of stochastic and deterministic computer virus models. Outcomes of a threshold number R0 hold in stochastic computer virus model. If R0 < 1 then in such a condition virus controlled in the computer population while R0 > 1 shows virus rapidly spread in the computer population. Unfortunately, stochastic numerical techniques fail to cope with large step sizes of time. The suggested structure of the stochastic non-standard finite difference technique can never violate the dynamical properties. On More >

GPR Wave Propagation Model in a Complex Geoelectric Structure Using Conformal First-Order Symplectic Euler Algorithm

    Man Yang1,2,3, Hongyuan Fang1,2,3,*, Juan Zhang4, Fuming Wang1,2,3, Jianwei Lei1,2,3, Heyang Jia1,2,3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.61, No.2, pp. 793-816, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.06042

Abstract Possessing advantages such as high computing efficiency and ease of programming, the Symplectic Euler algorithm can be applied to construct a ground-penetrating radar (GPR) wave propagation numerical model for complex geoelectric structures. However, the Symplectic Euler algorithm is still a difference algorithm, and for a complicated boundary, ladder grids are needed to perform an approximation process, which results in a certain amount of error. Further, grids that are too dense will seriously decrease computing efficiency. This paper proposes a conformal Symplectic Euler algorithm based on the conformal grid technique, amends the electric/magnetic field-updating equations of… More >

Sound wave propagation modeling in a 3D absorbing acoustic dome using the Method of Fundamental Solutions

    J. António1 , A. Tadeu1, L. Godinho

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.3, No.3, pp. 157-162, 2007, DOI:10.3970/icces.2007.003.157

Abstract A frequency dependent formulation based on the Method of Fundamental Solutions (MFS) is used to simulate the sound wave propagation in a 3D acoustic space. This solution is approximated by a linear combination of fundamental solutions generated by virtual sources placed outside the domain in order to avoid singularities. The coating materials can be assumed to be absorbent. This is achieved in the model prescribing the impedance that is defined as a function of the absorption coefficient. The model is first verified against analytical solutions, provided by the image source technique for a parallelepiped room More >

Crack Propagation Modeling by Remeshing Using the Cell Method (CM)

    E. Ferretti1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.4, No.1, pp. 51-72, 2003, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2003.004.051

Abstract A numerical code for modeling crack propagation using the cell method is proposed. The Mohr-Coulomb criterion is used to compute the direction of crack propagation, and the new crack geometry is realized by an intra-element propagation technique. Automatic remeshing is then activated. Applications in Mode I and Mixed Mode are presented to illustrate the robustness of the implementation. More >

Research on Public Opinion Propagation Model in Social Network Based on Blockchain

    Gengxin Sun1,*, Sheng Bin1, Meng Jiang2, Ning Cao3, Zhiyong Zheng4, Hongyan Zhao5, Dongbo Wang6, Lina Xu7

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.60, No.3, pp. 1015-1027, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.05644

Abstract With the emergence and development of blockchain technology, a new type of social networks based on blockchain had emerged. In these social networks high quality content creators, filters and propagators can all be reasonably motivated. Due to the transparency and traceability brought by blockchain technology, the public opinion propagation in such social networks presents new characteristics and laws. Based on the theory of network propagation and blockchain, a new public opinion propagation model for this kind of social network based on blockchain technology is proposed in this paper. The model considers the effect of incentive More >
