Applying an Ordinal Priority Approach Based Neutrosophic Fuzzy Axiomatic Design Approach to Develop Sustainable Geothermal Energy Source

    Chia-Nan Wang, Thuy-Duong Thi Pham*, Nhat-Luong Nhieu

    Energy Engineering, Vol.121, No.8, pp. 2039-2064, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ee.2024.050224 - 19 July 2024

Abstract Geothermal energy is considered a renewable, environmentally friendly, especially carbon-free, sustainable energy source that can solve the problem of climate change. In general, countries with geothermal energy resources are the ones going through the ring of fire. Therefore, not every country is lucky enough to own this resource. As a country with 117 active volcanoes and within the world’s ring of fire, it is a country whose geothermal resources are estimated to be about 40% of the world’s geothermal energy potential. However, the percentage used compared to the geothermal potential is too small. Therefore, this… More >

Priority Based Energy Efficient MAC Protocol by Varying Data Rate for Wireless Body Area Network

    R. Sangeetha, Usha Devi Gandhi*

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.48, No.2, pp. 395-411, 2024, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.041217 - 19 March 2024

Abstract Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) is a cutting-edge technology that is being used in healthcare applications to monitor critical events in the human body. WBAN is a collection of in-body and on-body sensors that monitor human physical parameters such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse rate, oxygen level, body motion, and so on. They sense the data and communicate it to the Body Area Network (BAN) Coordinator. The main challenge for the WBAN is energy consumption. These issues can be addressed by implementing an effective Medium Access Control (MAC) protocol that reduces energy consumption and increases… More >

    Farman Ali1, Khalid Zaman2, Babar Shah3, Tariq Hussain4, Habib Ullah5, Altaf Hussain5, Daehan Kwak6,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.77, No.1, pp. 963-981, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.040628 - 31 October 2023

Abstract The paper presents a new protocol called Link Stability and Transmission Delay Aware (LSTDA) for Flying Ad-hoc Network (FANET) with a focus on network corridors (NC). FANET consists of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) that face challenges in avoiding transmission loss and delay while ensuring stable communication. The proposed protocol introduces a novel link stability with network corridors priority node selection to check and ensure fair communication in the entire network. The protocol uses a Red-Black (R-B) tree to achieve maximum channel utilization and an advanced relay approach. The paper evaluates LSTDA in terms of End-to-End More >

Priority Detector and Classifier Techniques Based on ML for the IoMT

    Rayan A. Alsemmeari1,*, Mohamed Yehia Dahab2, Badraddin Alturki1, Abdulaziz A. Alsulami3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.76, No.2, pp. 1853-1870, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.038589 - 30 August 2023

Abstract Emerging telemedicine trends, such as the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), facilitate regular and efficient interactions between medical devices and computing devices. The importance of IoMT comes from the need to continuously monitor patients’ health conditions in real-time during normal daily activities, which is realized with the help of various wearable devices and sensors. One major health problem is workplace stress, which can lead to cardiovascular disease or psychiatric disorders. Therefore, real-time monitoring of employees’ stress in the workplace is essential. Stress levels and the source of stress could be detected early in the fog… More >

    Weijun Li1, Xin Die2, Zhicheng Ma3, Jinping Zhang3, Haiying Dong1,*

    Energy Engineering, Vol.120, No.4, pp. 1001-1022, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.024426 - 13 February 2023

Abstract Aiming at the problems of large-scale wind and solar grid connection, how to ensure the economy of system operation and how to realize fair scheduling between new energy power stations, a two-stage optimal dispatching model of wind power-photovoltaic-solar thermal combined system considering economic optimality and fairness is proposed. Firstly, the first stage dispatching model takes the overall economy optimization of the system as the goal and the principle of maximizing the consumption of wind and solar output, obtains the optimal output value under the economic conditions of each new energy station, and then obtains the… More > Graphic Abstract

Abstract The residential sector contributes a large part of the energy to the global energy balance. To date, housing demand has mostly been uncontrollable and inelastic to grid conditions. Analyzing the performance of a home energy management system requires the creation of various profiles of real-world residential demand, as residential demand is complex and includes multiple factors such as occupancy, climate, user preferences, and appliance types. Average Peak Ratio (A2P) is one of the most important parameters when managing an efficient and cost-effective energy system. At the household level, the larger relative magnitudes of certain energy… More >

Efficient Routing Protocol with Localization Based Priority & Congestion Control for UWSN

    S. Sandhiyaa*, C. Gomathy

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.74, No.3, pp. 4747-4768, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.032298 - 28 December 2022

Abstract The nodes in the sensor network have a wide range of uses, particularly on under-sea links that are skilled for detecting, handling as well as management. The underwater wireless sensor networks support collecting pollution data, mine survey, oceanographic information collection, aided navigation, strategic surveillance, and collection of ocean samples using detectors that are submerged in water. Localization, congestion routing, and prioritizing the traffic is the major issue in an underwater sensor network. Our scheme differentiates the different types of traffic and gives every type of traffic its requirements which is considered regarding network resource. Minimization… More >

Analysis on D2D Heterogeneous Networks with State-Dependent Priority Traffic

    Guangjun Liang1,2, Jianfang Xin3,*, Linging Xia1, Xueli Ni1,4, Yi Cao5

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.74, No.2, pp. 2981-2998, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.028597 - 31 October 2022

Abstract In this work, we consider the performance analysis of state dependent priority traffic and scheduling in device to device (D2D) heterogeneous networks. There are two priority transmission types of data in wireless communication, such as video or telephone, which always meet the requirements of high priority (HP) data transmission first. If there is a large amount of low priority (LP) data, there will be a large amount of LP data that cannot be sent. This situation will cause excessive delay of LP data and packet dropping probability. In order to solve this problem, the data… More >

Failure Mode and Effects Analysis Based on Z-Numbers and the Graded Mean Integration Representation

    Hanhan Zhang1, Zhihui Xu2, Hong Qian1, Xiaoyan Su1,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.134, No.2, pp. 1005-1019, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.021898 - 31 August 2022

Abstract Failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) is a widely used safety assessment method in many fields. Z-number was previously applied in FMEA since it can take both possibility and reliability of information into consideration. However, the use of fuzzy weighted mean to integrate Z-valuations may have some drawbacks and is not suitable for some situations. In this paper, an improved method is proposed based on Z-numbers and the graded mean integration representation (GMIR) to deal with the uncertain information in FMEA. First, Z-numbers are constructed based on the evaluations of risk factors O, S, D for each More >
