Influence of Brownian Motion, Thermophoresis and Magnetic Effects on a Fluid Containing Nanoparticles Flowing over a Stretchable Cylinder

    Aaqib Majeed1,*, Ahmad Zeeshan2

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.20, No.3, pp. 525-536, 2024, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.028716 - 12 January 2024

Abstract The influence of Brownian motion and thermophoresis on a fluid containing nanoparticles flowing over a stretchable cylinder is examined. The classical Navier-Stokes equations are considered in a porous frame. In addition, the Lorentz force is taken into account. The controlling coupled nonlinear partial differential equations are transformed into a system of first order ordinary differential equations by means of a similarity transformation. The resulting system of equations is solved by employing a shooting approach properly implemented in MATLAB. The evolution of the boundary layer and the growing velocity is shown graphically together with the related More >

MHD VISCOUS CASSONFLUID FLOW IN THE PRESENCE OF A TEMPERATURE GRADIENT DEPENDENT HEAT SINK WITH PRESCRIBED HEAT AND MASS FLUX

    S. Palaniammal1 , K. Saritha2,*

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.10, pp. 1-10, 2018, DOI:10.5098/hmt.10.1

Abstract This paper investigates heat and mass transfer of a MHD Casson fluid over a permeable stretching surface in the presence of a temperature gradient heat sink. The effects of viscous dissipation, thermal radiation and chemical reaction are also taken into the consideration. The relevant similarity transformations are used to reduce the governing equations into a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations and then solved analytically. The influence of various physical parameters on the velocity, temperature, concentration, skin friction coefficient, Nusselt and Sherwood numbers are investigated. The numerical results of skin friction factor, Nusselt and Sherwood More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.8, pp. 1-7, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.8.25

Abstract Present investigation represent the study of Cattaneo-Christov heat flux model on boundary layer flow of hyperbolic tangent fluid which is generalized non-Newtonian fluid model over a continuously moving porous surface with a parallel free stream velocity. Mathematical formulation is completed in the presence of Magneto-hydrodynamics (MHD). Suitable relations transform the partial differential equations into the ordinary differential equations. Nonlinear flow analysis is computed and velocity and temperature profiles are obtained by shooting algorithm. Graphs are plotted to analyze the behavior of various involved physical parameters. Furthermore both type of flows Sakaidis ( λ = 1) and More >
