A Novel Detection Method for Pavement Crack with Encoder-Decoder Architecture

    Yalong Yang1,2,3, Wenjing Xu1,2,3, Yinfeng Zhu4, Liangliang Su1,2,3,*, Gongquan Zhang1,2,3

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.137, No.1, pp. 761-773, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.027010 - 23 April 2023

Abstract As a current popular method, intelligent detection of cracks is of great significance to road safety, so deep learning has gradually attracted attention in the field of crack image detection. The nonlinear structure, low contrast and discontinuity of cracks bring great challenges to existing crack detection methods based on deep learning. Therefore, an end-to-end deep convolutional neural network (AttentionCrack) is proposed for automatic crack detection to overcome the inaccuracy of boundary location between crack and non-crack pixels. The AttentionCrack network is built on U-Net based encoder-decoder architecture, and an attention mechanism is incorporated into the… More >

SNCDM: Spinal Tumor Detection from MRI Images Using Optimized Super-Pixel Segmentation

    T. Merlin Inbamalar1,*, Dhandapani Samiappan2, R. Ramesh3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.2, pp. 1899-1913, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.031202 - 05 January 2023

Abstract Conferring to the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) survey, 85% to 99% of people are affected by spinal cord tumors. The symptoms are varied depending on the tumor’s location and size. Up-to-the-minute, back pain is one of the essential symptoms, but it does not have a specific symptom to recognize at the earlier stage. Numerous significant research studies have been conducted to improve spine tumor recognition accuracy. Nevertheless, the traditional systems are consuming high time to extract the specific region and features. Improper identification of the tumor region affects the predictive tumor rate and More >

AGWO-CNN Classification for Computer-Assisted Diagnosis of Brain Tumors

    T. Jeslin1,*, J. Arul Linsely2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.1, pp. 171-182, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.020255 - 03 November 2021

Abstract Brain cancer is the premier reason for cancer deaths all over the world. The diagnosis of brain cancer at an initial stage is mediocre, as the radiologist is ineffectual. Different experiments have been conducted and demonstrated clearly that the algorithms for nodule segmentation are unsuccessful. Therefore, the research has consolidated incremental clustering focused on superpixel segmentation as an appropriate optimization approach for the accurate segmentation of pulmonary nodules. The key aim of the research is to refine brain CT images to accurately distinguish tumors and the segmentation of small-scale anomalous nodules in the brain region.… More >

A Noise-Resistant Superpixel Segmentation Algorithm for Hyperspectral Images

    Peng Fu1,2, Qianqian Xu1, Jieyu Zhang3, Leilei Geng4,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.59, No.2, pp. 509-515, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.05250

Abstract The superpixel segmentation has been widely applied in many computer vision and image process applications. In recent years, amount of superpixel segmentation algorithms have been proposed. However, most of the current algorithms are designed for natural images with little noise corrupted. In order to apply the superpixel algorithms to hyperspectral images which are always seriously polluted by noise, we propose a noise-resistant superpixel segmentation (NRSS) algorithm in this paper. In the proposed NRSS, the spectral signatures are first transformed into frequency domain to enhance the noise robustness; then the two widely spectral similarity measures-spectral angle More >
