Improved Strategy of Grid-Forming Virtual Synchronous Generator Based on Transient Damping

    Lei Zhang1, Rongliang Shi1,2,*, Junhui Li2, Yannan Yu1, Yu Zhang1

    Energy Engineering, Vol.121, No.11, pp. 3181-3197, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ee.2024.054485 - 21 October 2024

Abstract The grid-forming virtual synchronous generator (GFVSG) not only employs a first-order low-pass filter for virtual inertia control but also introduces grid-connected active power (GCAP) dynamic oscillation issues, akin to those observed in traditional synchronous generators. In response to this, an improved strategy for lead-lag filter based GFVSG (LLF-GFVSG) is presented in this article. Firstly, the grid-connected circuit structure and control principle of typical GFVSG are described, and a closed-loop small-signal model for GCAP in GFVSG is established. The causes of GCAP dynamic oscillation of GFVSG under the disturbances of active power command as well as More >

Parameter Design of Current Double Closed Loop for T-Type Three-Level Grid-Connected Inverter

    Tiankui Sun1,*, Mingming Shi1, Xiaolong Xiao1, Ping He1, Yu Ji1, Zhiyuan Yuan2

    Energy Engineering, Vol.120, No.7, pp. 1621-1636, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.026948 - 04 May 2023

Abstract To reduce current harmonics caused by switching frequency, T-type grid-connected inverter topology with LCL filter is adopted. In view of the disadvantages of the slow response speed of the traditional current control and the failure to eliminate the influence of the LCL filter on the grid-connected current by using current PI control alone, a current double closed loop PI current tracking control is proposed. Through the theoretical analysis of the grid-connected inverter control principle, the grid-connected inverter control model is designed, and the transfer function model of each control link is deduced, and the current More >

Integration of game theory and response surface method for robust parameter design

Mengyuan Tang, Li Dai1, Sangmun Shin2

    Revista Internacional de Métodos Numéricos para Cálculo y Diseño en Ingeniería, Vol.38, No.2, pp. 1-17, 2022, DOI:10.23967/j.rimni.2022.06.002 - 20 June 2022

Abstract Robust parameter design (RPD) is to determine the optimal controllable factors that minimize the variation of quality performance caused by noise factors. The dual response surface approach is one of the most commonly applied approaches in RPD that attempts to simultaneously minimize the process bias (i.e., the deviation of the process mean from the target) as well as process variability (i.e., variance or standard deviation). In order to address this tradeoff issue between the process bias and variability, a number of RPD methods are reported in literature by assigning relative weights or priorities to both… More >
