    Energy Engineering, Vol.121, No.10, pp. 3075-3093, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ee.2024.051404 - 11 September 2024

Abstract The integration of photovoltaic, energy storage, direct current, and flexible load (PEDF) technologies in building power systems is an important means to address the energy crisis and promote the development of green buildings. The friendly interaction between the PEDF systems and the power grid can promote the utilization of renewable energy and enhance the stability of the power grid. For this purpose, this work introduces a framework of multiple incentive mechanisms for a PEDF park, a building energy system that implements PEDF technologies. The incentive mechanisms proposed in this paper include both economic and noneconomic… More >

    Energy Engineering, Vol.121, No.4, pp. 869-893, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ee.2024.029722 - 26 March 2024

Abstract Peak load and wind energy emission pressure rise more as wind energy penetration keeps growing, which affects the stabilization of the PS (power system). This paper suggests integrated optimal dispatching of thermal power generators and BESS (battery energy storage system) taking wind energy emission grading punishment and deep peak clipping into consideration. Firstly, in order to minimize wind abandonment, a hierarchical wind abandonment penalty strategy based on fuzzy control is designed and introduced, and the optimal grid-connected power of wind energy is determined as a result of minimizing the peak cutting cost of the system.… More > Graphic Abstract

Abstract As new power systems and dual carbon policies develop, virtual power plant cluster (VPPC) provides another reliable way to promote the efficient utilization of energy and solve environmental pollution problems. To solve the coordinated optimal operation and low-carbon economic operation problem in multi-virtual power plant, a multi-virtual power plant (VPP) electricity-carbon interaction optimal scheduling model considering integrated demand response (IDR) is proposed. Firstly, a multi-VPP electricity-carbon interaction framework is established. The interaction of electric energy and carbon quotas can realize energy complementarity, reduce energy waste and promote low-carbon operation. Secondly, in order to coordinate the… More > Graphic Abstract

    Ming Li1,*, Cairen Furifu1, Chengyang Ge2, Yunping Zheng1, Shunfu Lin2, Ronghui Liu2

    Energy Engineering, Vol.120, No.8, pp. 1775-1801, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.027215 - 05 June 2023

Abstract As an effective carrier of integrated clean energy, the microgrid has attracted wide attention. The randomness of renewable energies such as wind and solar power output brings a significant cost and impact on the economics and reliability of microgrids. This paper proposes an optimization scheme based on the distributionally robust optimization (DRO) model for a microgrid considering solar-wind correlation. Firstly, scenarios of wind and solar power output scenarios are generated based on non-parametric kernel density estimation and the Frank-Copula function; then the generated scenario results are reduced by K-means clustering; finally, the probability confidence interval More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.134, No.2, pp. 957-979, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.021783 - 31 August 2022

Abstract Bio-inspired computer modelling brings solutions from the living phenomena or biological systems to engineering domains. To overcome the obstruction problem of large-scale wind power consumption in Northwest China, this paper constructs a bio-inspired computer model. It is an optimal wind power consumption dispatching model of multi-time scale demand response that takes into account the involved high-energy load. First, the principle of wind power obstruction with the involvement of a high-energy load is examined in this work. In this step, highenergy load model with different regulation characteristics is established. Then, considering the multi-time scale characteristics of More >

Wenlu Ji, Yong Wang*, Xing Deng, Ming Zhang, Ting Ye

    Energy Engineering, Vol.119, No.5, pp. 1967-1983, 2022, DOI:10.32604/ee.2022.020011 - 21 July 2022

Abstract Virtual power plants can effectively integrate different types of distributed energy resources, which have become a new operation mode with substantial advantages such as high flexibility, adaptability, and economy. This paper proposes a distributionally robust optimal dispatch approach for virtual power plants to determine an optimal day-ahead dispatch under uncertainties of renewable energy sources. The proposed distributionally robust approach characterizes probability distributions of renewable power output by moments. In this regard, the faults of stochastic optimization and traditional robust optimization can be overcome. Firstly, a second-order cone-based ambiguity set that incorporates the first and second… More >

Xin Zhang*, Jinpeng Jiang, Haoran Zheng, Jihong Zhang

    Energy Engineering, Vol.119, No.3, pp. 1117-1140, 2022, DOI:10.32604/ee.2022.017288 - 31 March 2022

Abstract China consumes significant amount of natural gas in winter. The integrated community energy utilization system (ICEUS) cannot stabilize the output of electricity and heat if there is a shortage of natural gas. The operation cost of the system still needs improvement. An energy supply structure using garbage power as the core of ICEUS was established in the study. The optimal dispatching model of ICEUS was established using the regulating characteristic of the community load. The sine-cosine algorithm (SCA) based on nonlinear factors and segmented weight was presented to solve the optimal dispatching model of ICEUS. More >
