Internet Inter-Domain Path Inferring: Methods, Applications, and Future Directions

Xionglve Li, Chengyu Wang, Yifan Yang, Changsheng Hou, Bingnan Hou, Zhiping Cai*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.81, No.1, pp. 53-78, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2024.055186 - 15 October 2024

Abstract The global Internet is a complex network of interconnected autonomous systems (ASes). Understanding Internet inter-domain path information is crucial for understanding, managing, and improving the Internet. The path information can also help protect user privacy and security. However, due to the complicated and heterogeneous structure of the Internet, path information is not publicly available. Obtaining path information is challenging due to the limited measurement probes and collectors. Therefore, inferring Internet inter-domain paths from the limited data is a supplementary approach to measure Internet inter-domain paths. The purpose of this survey is to provide an overview… More >

Md. Munirul Hasan1, Md Mustafizur Rahman2,*, Mohammad Saiful Islam3, Wong Hung Chan4, Yasser M. Alginahi5, Muhammad Nomani Kabir6, Suraya Abu Bakar1, Devarajan Ramasamy2

    Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.22, No.2, pp. 537-556, 2024, DOI:10.32604/fhmt.2024.047428 - 20 May 2024

Abstract A vehicle engine cooling system is of utmost importance to ensure that the engine operates in a safe temperature range. In most radiators that are used to cool an engine, water serves as a cooling fluid. The performance of a radiator in terms of heat transmission is significantly influenced by the incorporation of nanoparticles into the cooling water. Concentration and uniformity of nanoparticle distribution are the two major factors for the practical use of nanofluids. The shape and size of nanoparticles also have a great impact on the performance of heat transfer. Many researchers are… More > Graphic Abstract

3D Road Network Modeling and Road Structure Recognition in Internet of Vehicles

    Dun Cao1, Jia Ru1, Jian Qin1, Amr Tolba2, Jin Wang1, Min Zhu3,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.138, No.2, pp. 1365-1384, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.030260 - 17 November 2023

Abstract Internet of Vehicles (IoV) is a new system that enables individual vehicles to connect with nearby vehicles, people, transportation infrastructure, and networks, thereby realizing a more intelligent and efficient transportation system. The movement of vehicles and the three-dimensional (3D) nature of the road network cause the topological structure of IoV to have the high space and time complexity. Network modeling and structure recognition for 3D roads can benefit the description of topological changes for IoV. This paper proposes a 3D general road model based on discrete points of roads obtained from GIS. First, the constraints… More >

Experimental Performance Evaluation and Artificial-Neural-Network Modeling of ZnO-CuO/EG-W Hybrid Nanofluids

Yuling Zhai*, Long Li, Zihao Xuan, Mingyan Ma, Hua Wang

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.18, No.3, pp. 629-646, 2022, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2022.017485 - 22 February 2022

Abstract The thermo-physical properties of nanofluids are highly dependent on the used base fluid. This study explores the influence of the mixing ratio on the thermal conductivity and viscosity of ZnO-CuO/EG (ethylene glycol)-W (water) hybrid nanofluids with mass concentration and temperatures in the ranges 1-5 wt.% and 25-60°C, respectively. The characteristics and stability of these mixtures were estimated by TEM (transmission electron microscopy), visual observation, and absorbance tests. The results show that 120 min of sonication and the addition of PVP (polyvinyl pyrrolidone) surfactant can prevent sedimentation for a period reaching up to 20 days. The… More >

A Review of the Dynamic Modeling Approaches for Characterizing Fluid Flow in Naturally Fractured Reservoirs

    M. N. Tarhuni*, W. R. Sulaiman, M. Z. Jaafar, M. Milad, A. M. Alghol

    Energy Engineering, Vol.118, No.4, pp. 761-795, 2021, DOI:10.32604/EE.2021.016645 - 31 May 2021

Abstract Fluid flow in fractured media has been studied for decades and received considerable attention in the oil and gas industry because of the high productivity of naturally fractured reservoirs. Due to formation complexity and reservoir heterogeneity, characterizing fluid flow with an appropriate reservoir model presents a challenging task that differs relatively from homogeneous conventional reservoirs in many aspects of view, including geological, petrophysical, production, and economics. In most fractured reservoirs, fracture networks create complex pathways that affect hydrocarbon flow, well performance, hence reservoir characterization. A better and comprehensive understanding of the available reservoir modeling approaches… More >
