    Jiahan He1, Guangjun Liang1,2,3,*, Meng Li4, Kefan Yao1, Bixia Wang1, Lu Li5

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.80, No.2, pp. 3243-3261, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2024.051710 - 15 August 2024

Abstract In this paper, considering the cost of base station, coverage, call quality, and other practical factors, a multi-objective optimal site planning scheme is proposed. Firstly, based on practical needs, mathematical modeling methods were used to establish mathematical expressions for the three sub-objectives of cost objectives, coverage objectives, and quality objectives. Then, a multi-objective optimization model was established by combining threshold and traffic volume constraints. In order to reduce the time complexity of optimization, a non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA) is used to solve the multi-objective optimization problem of site planning. Finally, a strategy for clustering… More >

Abstract Compact fifth-generation (5G) low-frequency band filtering antennas (filtennas) with stable directive radiation patterns, improved bandwidth (BW), and gain are designed, fabricated, and tested in this research. The proposed filtennas are achieved by combining the predesigned compact 5G (5.975 – 7.125 GHz) third-order uniform and non-uniform transmission line hairpin bandpass filters (UTL and NTL HPBFs) with the compact ultrawide band Vivaldi tapered slot antenna (UWB VTSA) in one module. The objective of this integration is to enhance the performance of 5.975 – 7.125 GHz filtennas which will be suitable for modern mobile communication applications by exploiting the benefits… More >

Abstract Cellular mobile technology has witnessed tremendous growth in recent times. One of the challenges facing the operators to extend the coverage of the networks to meet the rising demand for cellular mobile services is the power sources used to supply cellular towers with energy, especially in remote. Thus, switch from the conventional sources of energy to a greener and sustainable power model became a target of the academic and industrial sectors in many fields; one of these important fields is the telecommunication sector. Accordingly, this study aims to find the optimum sizing and techno-economic investigation… More >

Abstract The emergence of multimedia services has meant a substantial increase in the number of devices in mobile networks and driving the demand for higher data transmission rates. The result is that, cellular networks must technically evolve to support such higher rates, to be equipped with greater capacity, and to increase the spectral and energy efficiency. Compared with 4G technology, the 5G networks are being designed to transmit up to 100 times more data volume with devices whose battery life is 10 times longer. Therefore, this new generation of networks has adopted a heterogeneous and ultra-dense… More >
