    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.138, No.2, pp. 1301-1322, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.030844 - 17 November 2023

Abstract This study designs a microstrip patch antenna with an inverted T-type notch in the partial ground to detect tumor cells inside the human breast. The size of the current antenna is small enough (18 mm × 21 mm × 1.6 mm) to distribute around the breast phantom. The operating frequency has been observed from 6–14 GHz with a minimum return loss of −61.18 dB and the maximum gain of current proposed antenna is 5.8 dBi which is flexible with respect to the size of antenna. After the distribution of eight antennas around the breast phantom, the return loss curves were observed in the presence and More > Graphic Abstract

Abstract This paper presents a flexible and wearable textile array antenna designed to generate Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) waves with Mode +2 at 3.5 GHz (3.4 to 3.6 GHz) of the sub-6 GHz fifth-generation (5G) New Radio (NR) band. The proposed antenna is based on a uniform circular array of eight microstrip patch antennas on a felt textile substrate. In contrast to previous works involving the use of rigid substrates to generate OAM waves, this work explored the use of flexible substrates to generate OAM waves for the first time. Other than that, the proposed antenna… More >

A Substrate Integrated Waveguide Based Filtenna for X and Ku Band Application

    S. Leo Pauline1,*, T. R. GaneshBabu2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.1, pp. 465-473, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.024030 - 06 June 2022

Abstract In this paper Substrate Integrated Waveguide-based filtenna operating at Ku band is proposed. The model is designed on a low loss dielectric substrate having a thickness of 0.508 mm and comprises of shorting vias along two edges of the substrate walls. To realize a bandpass filter, secondary shorting vias are placed close to primary shorting vias. The dimension and position of the vias are carefully analyzed for Ku band frequencies. The model is fabricated on Roger RT/duroid 5880 and the performance characteristics are measured. The proposed model achieves significant impedance characteristics with wider bandwidth in the More >

Design and Analysis of a Novel Antenna for THz Wireless Communication

    Omar A. Saraereh1,*, Luae Al-Tarawneh2, Ashraf Ali1, Amani M. Al Hadidi3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.31, No.1, pp. 607-619, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.020216 - 03 September 2021

Abstract The frequency range of the terahertz (THz) band is usually defined as 0.3~3.0 THz, and some scholars have also extended it to 0.1~10 THz. THz technology has the characteristics of low photon radiation energy and rich spectrum information, and the THz band contains the vibration and rotation resonance frequencies of many material macromolecules, which can realize fingerprint detection. Therefore, THz technology has great academic value and a wide range of applications in basic research and applied science. Application prospects, such as THz spectroscopy technology provides a new means for studying the interaction between electromagnetic waves… More >

Gyro-Chirality Effect of Bianisotropic Substrate on the Resonant Frequency and Half-power Bandwidth of Rectangular Microstrip Patch Antenna

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.52, No.2, pp. 123-131, 2016, DOI:10.3970/cmc.2016.052.123

Abstract In this paper, the gyrotropic bi-anisotropy of the chiral medium in substrate constitutive parameters (xc and hc) of a rectangular microstrip patch antenna is introduced in order to observe its effects on the complex resonant frequency and half-power bandwidth. The analysis is based on the full-wave spectral domain approach using the Moment Method, with sinusoidal type basis functions. The numerical calculations related to the dominant mode have been carried out, and it has been observed that the resonant frequency and the bandwidth are directly linked to the medium chirality. The new results can be considered More >
