    Liwei Deng1, Yuanzhi Zhang1, Xin Yang2,*, Sijuan Huang2, Jing Wang3,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.75, No.2, pp. 2671-2684, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.036642

Abstract High-resolution medical images have important medical value, but are difficult to obtain directly. Limited by hardware equipment and patient’s physical condition, the resolution of directly acquired medical images is often not high. Therefore, many researchers have thought of using super-resolution algorithms for secondary processing to obtain high-resolution medical images. However, current super-resolution algorithms only work on a single scale, and multiple networks need to be trained when super-resolution images of different scales are needed. This definitely raises the cost of acquiring high-resolution medical images. Thus, we propose a multi-scale super-resolution algorithm using meta-learning. The algorithm combines a meta-learning approach with… More >

    Cong Lin1, Chenghao Qiu1, Can Wu1, Siling Feng1,*, Mengxing Huang1,2,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.75, No.2, pp. 4317-4340, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.036249

Abstract The random-value impulse noise (RVIN) detection approach in image denoising, which is dependent on manually defined detection thresholds or local window information, does not have strong generalization performance and cannot successfully cope with damaged pictures with high noise levels. The fusion of the K-means clustering approach in the noise detection stage is reviewed in this research, and the internal relationship between the flat region and the detail area of the damaged picture is thoroughly explored to suggest an unique two-stage method for gray image denoising. Based on the concept of pixel clustering and grouping, all pixels in the damaged picture… More >

Abstract Convolution neural networks (CNNs) have proven to be effective clinical imaging methods. This study highlighted some of the key issues within these systems. It is difficult to train these systems in a limited clinical image databases, and many publications present strategies including such learning algorithm. Furthermore, these patterns are known for making a highly reliable prognosis. In addition, normalization of volume and losses of dice have been used effectively to accelerate and stabilize the training. Furthermore, these systems are improperly regulated, resulting in more confident ratings for correct and incorrect classification, which are inaccurate and difficult to understand. This study… More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.136, No.3, pp. 2595-2616, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.025804

Abstract This paper presents a 6-layer customized convolutional neural network model (6L-CNN) to rapidly screen out patients with COVID-19 infection in chest CT images. This model can effectively detect whether the target CT image contains images of pneumonia lesions. In this method, 6L-CNN was trained as a binary classifier using the dataset containing CT images of the lung with and without pneumonia as a sample. The results show that the model improves the accuracy of screening out COVID-19 patients. Compared to other methods, the performance is better. In addition, the method can be extended to other similar clinical conditions. More >

    Jiaqi Shao1,#, Shuwen Chen1,2,3,#,*, Jin Zhou1,#, Huisheng Zhu1, Ziyi Wang1, Mackenzie Brown4,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.136, No.3, pp. 2173-2219, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.025499

Abstract As a mainstream research direction in the field of image segmentation, medical image segmentation plays a key role in the quantification of lesions, three-dimensional reconstruction, region of interest extraction and so on. Compared with natural images, medical images have a variety of modes. Besides, the emphasis of information which is conveyed by images of different modes is quite different. Because it is time-consuming and inefficient to manually segment medical images only by professional and experienced doctors. Therefore, large quantities of automated medical image segmentation methods have been developed. However, until now, researchers have not developed a universal method for all… More >

Horizontal Voting Ensemble Based Predictive Modeling System for Colon Cancer

    Ushaa Eswaran1,*, S. Anand2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.46, No.2, pp. 1917-1928, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.032523

Abstract Colon cancer is the third most commonly diagnosed cancer in the world. Most colon AdenoCArcinoma (ACA) arises from pre-existing benign polyps in the mucosa of the bowel. Thus, detecting benign at the earliest helps reduce the mortality rate. In this work, a Predictive Modeling System (PMS) is developed for the classification of colon cancer using the Horizontal Voting Ensemble (HVE) method. Identifying different patterns in microscopic images is essential to an effective classification system. A twelve-layer deep learning architecture has been developed to extract these patterns. The developed HVE algorithm can increase the system’s performance according to the combined models… More >

    Mingshuai Sheng1, Jingbing Li1,2,*, Uzair Aslam Bhatti1,2,3, Jing Liu4, Mengxing Huang1,5, Yen-Wei Chen6

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.75, No.1, pp. 293-309, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.036438

Abstract Medical images are used as a diagnostic tool, so protecting their confidentiality has long been a topic of study. From this, we propose a Resnet50-DCT-based zero watermarking algorithm for use with medical images. To begin, we use Resnet50, a pre-training network, to draw out the deep features of medical images. Then the deep features are transformed by DCT transform and the perceptual hash function is used to generate the feature vector. The original watermark is chaotic scrambled to get the encrypted watermark, and the watermark information is embedded into the original medical image by XOR operation, and the logical key… More >
