Linlin Zhang, Lvzhao Bai, Jianshu Liang, Zhiying Qin*, Yuejing Zhao

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.48, No.6, pp. 1557-1579, 2024, DOI:10.32604/csse.2024.054237 - 22 November 2024

Abstract Quadrotor unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are widely used in inspection, agriculture, express delivery, and other fields owing to their low cost and high flexibility. However, the current UAV control system has shortcomings such as poor control accuracy and weak anti-interference ability to a certain extent. To address the control problem of a four-rotor UAV, we propose a method to enhance the controller’s accuracy by considering underactuated dynamics, nonlinearities, and external disturbances. A mathematical model is constructed based on the flight principles of the quadrotor UAV. We develop a control algorithm that combines humanoid intelligence with… More >

Abstract The strategy evolution process of game players is highly uncertain due to random emergent situations and other external disturbances. This paper investigates the issue of strategy interaction and behavioral decision-making among game players in simulated confrontation scenarios within a random interference environment. It considers the possible risks that random disturbances may pose to the autonomous decision-making of game players, as well as the impact of participants’ manipulative behaviors on the state changes of the players. A nonlinear mathematical model is established to describe the strategy decision-making process of the participants in this scenario. Subsequently, the… More >

Abstract This study aims to formulate a steady-state mathematical model for a three-dimensional permeable enclosure (cavity) to determine the oil extraction rate using three distinct nanoparticles, SiO2, Al2O3, and Fe2O3, in unconventional oil reservoirs. The simulation is conducted for different parameters of volume fractions, porosities, and mass flow rates to determine the optimal oil recovery. The impact of nanoparticles on relative permeability ( and water is also investigated. The simulation process utilizes the finite volume ANSYS Fluent. The study results showed that when the mass flow rate at the inlet is low, oil recovery goes up. In addition, More >

Abstract The global population has been and will continue to be severely impacted by the COVID-19 epidemic. The primary objective of this research is to demonstrate the future impact of COVID-19 on those who suffer from other fatal conditions such as cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. Here, using ordinary differential equations (ODEs), two mathematical models are developed to explain the association between COVID-19 and cancer and between COVID-19 and diabetes and heart disease. After that, we highlight the stability assessments that can be applied to these models. Sensitivity analysis is used to examine how changes in… More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.134, No.3, pp. 1943-1956, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.021815 - 20 September 2022

Abstract In this article, mathematical modeling for the evaluation of reliability is studied using two methods. One of the methods, is developed based on possibility theory. The performance of the reliability of the system is of prime concern. In view of this, the outcomes for the failure are required to evaluate with utmost care. In possibility theory, the reliability information data determined from decision-making experts are subjective. The same method is also related to the survival possibilities as against the survival probabilities. The other method is the one that is developed using the concept of approximation More >

MATHEMATICAL MODELING OF MHD FLOW OF HYBRID MICROPOLAR FERROFLUIDS ABOUT A SOLID SPHERE

    Hamzeh T. Alkasasbeh*

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.18, pp. 1-9, 2022, DOI:10.5098/hmt.18.43

Abstract The purpose of this study is mathematical simulation the combined free convection of hybrid micropolar ferrofluids about a solid sphere with magnetic force. We studied the magnetic oxide (Fe3O4) and Cobalt Iron Oxide (CoFe2O4) nanoparticles and suspended them into water–ethylene glycol (EG) (H2O+(CH2OH)2 (50-50%) mixture. Numerical results for correlated physical quantities were gained through the Keller Box method along with the assistance of MATLAB software. The influence of relevant contributing parameters on physical quantities are inspected through tables and graphical illustrations. According to the current findings, the mono ferrofluid has the highest local skin friction, heat transmission More >

    Aamir Shahzad1,*, Shadi Munshi2, Sufyan Azam2, Muhammad Nasir Khan3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.2, pp. 2897-2911, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.028441 - 16 June 2022

Abstract The main objective of this research is to design a state-feedback controller for the rotary inverted pendulum module utilizing the linear quadratic regulator (LQR) technique. The controller maintains the pendulum in the inverted (upright) position and is robust enough to reject external disturbance to maintain its stability. The research work involves three major contributions: mathematical modeling, simulation, and real-time implementation. To design a controller, mathematical modeling has been done by employing the Newton-Euler, Lagrange method. The resulting model was nonlinear so linearization was required, which has been done around a working point. For the estimation of the controller More >

Abstract A foot bracket is a metal panel bracket used to mount and support the footrest in two-wheeler systems. It holds the footrest in place while rigidly supporting it. In working conditions, this element has often been observed to fail when specific load-fluctuation conditions are established at its rear end. Appropriate materials therefore need to be identified to overcome such a recurring failure. To address these issues, the present study has been implemented with the specific objective to determine the response of selected Al6061-T6 and Al7075-T6 Hybrid Metal Matrix Composites (HMMC). The results, obtained using the More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.130, No.1, pp. 111-132, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.016957 - 29 November 2021

Abstract While antibiotic resistance is becoming increasingly serious today, there is almost no doubt that more challenging times await us in the future. Resistant microorganisms have increased in the past decades leading to limited treatment options, along with higher morbidity and mortality. Klebsiella pneumoniae is one of the significant microorganisms causing major public health problems by acquiring resistance to antibiotics and acting as an opportunistic pathogen of healthcare-associated infections. The production of extended spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBL) is one of the resistance mechanisms of K. pneumoniae against antibiotics. In this study, the future clinical situation of ESBL-producing K. pneumoniae was… More >

    Borislav Savkovic1, Pavel Kovac1, Branislav Dudic2,3,*, Michal Gregus2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.1, pp. 1661-1675, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.021642 - 03 November 2021

Abstract The paper deals with factorial experimental design models decoding. For the ease of calculation of the experimental mathematical models, it is convenient first to code the independent variables. When selecting independent variables, it is necessary to take into account the range covered by each. A wide range of choices of different variables is presented in this paper. After calculating the regression model, its variables must be returned to their original values for the model to be easy recognized and represented. In the paper, the procedures of simple first order models, with interactions and with second… More >
