A Mathematical Approach for Generating a Highly Non-Linear Substitution Box Using Quadratic Fractional Transformation

    Abid Mahboob1, Muhammad Asif2, Rana Muhammad Zulqarnain3,*, Imran Saddique4, Hijaz Ahmad5, Sameh Askar6

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.77, No.2, pp. 2565-2578, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.040371 - 29 November 2023

Abstract Nowadays, one of the most important difficulties is the protection and privacy of confidential data. To address these problems, numerous organizations rely on the use of cryptographic techniques to secure data from illegal activities and assaults. Modern cryptographic ciphers use the non-linear component of block cipher to ensure the robust encryption process and lawful decoding of plain data during the decryption phase. For the designing of a secure substitution box (S-box), non-linearity (NL) which is an algebraic property of the S-box has great importance. Consequently, the main focus of cryptographers is to achieve the S-box… More >

A Custom Manipulator for Dental Implantation Through Model-Based Design

    Anitha Govindhan1,*, Karnam Anantha Sunitha2, Sivanathan Kandhasamy3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.1, pp. 351-365, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.026361 - 06 June 2022

Abstract This paper presents a Model-Based Design (MBD) approach for the design and control of a customized manipulator intended for drilling and positioning of dental implants accurately with minimal human intervention. While performing an intra-oral surgery for a prolonged duration within a limited oral cavity, the tremor of dentist's hand is inevitable. As a result, wielding the drilling tool and inserting the dental implants safely in accurate position and orientation is highly challenging even for experienced dentists. Therefore, we introduce a customized manipulator that is designed ergonomically by taking in to account the dental chair specifications… More >

P-ACOHONEYBEE: A Novel Load Balancer for Cloud Computing Using Mathematical Approach

    Sunday Adeola Ajagbe1, Mayowa O. Oyediran2, Anand Nayyar3,*, Jinmisayo A. Awokola4, Jehad F. Al-Amri5

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.1, pp. 1943-1959, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.028331 - 18 May 2022

Abstract Cloud computing is a collection of disparate resources or services, a web of massive infrastructures, which is aimed at achieving maximum utilization with higher availability at a minimized cost. One of the most attractive applications for cloud computing is the concept of distributed information processing. Security, privacy, energy saving, reliability and load balancing are the major challenges facing cloud computing and most information technology innovations. Load balancing is the process of redistributing workload among all nodes in a network; to improve resource utilization and job response time, while avoiding overloading some nodes when other nodes… More >

An Improved Mathematical Approach for Determination of Molecular Kinetics in Living Cells with FRAP

    Tanmay Lele1,1, Philmo Oh1,1, Jeffrey A. Nickerson1,1,2,2, Donald E. Ingber1,1,3,3

    Molecular & Cellular Biomechanics, Vol.1, No.3, pp. 181-190, 2004, DOI:10.3970/mcb.2004.001.181

Abstract The estimation of binding constants and diffusion coefficients of molecules that associate with insoluble molecular scaffolds inside living cells and nuclei has been facilitated by the use of Fluorescence Recovery after Photobleaching (FRAP) in conjunction with mathematical modeling. A critical feature unique to FRAP experiments that has been overlooked by past mathematical treatments is the existence of an `equilibrium constraint': local dynamic equilibrium is not disturbed because photobleaching does not functionally destroy molecules, and hence binding-unbinding proceeds at equilibrium rates. Here we describe an improved mathematical formulation under the equilibrium constraint which provides a more… More >
