Enhanced Mechanism for Link Failure Rerouting in Software-Defined Exchange Point Networks

    Abdijalil Abdullahi1,2, Selvakumar Manickam2,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.80, No.3, pp. 4361-4385, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2024.054215 - 12 September 2024

Abstract Internet Exchange Point (IXP) is a system that increases network bandwidth performance. Internet exchange points facilitate interconnection among network providers, including Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and Content Delivery Providers (CDNs). To improve service management, Internet exchange point providers have adopted the Software Defined Network (SDN) paradigm. This implementation is known as a Software-Defined Exchange Point (SDX). It improves network providers’ operations and management. However, performance issues still exist, particularly with multi-hop topologies. These issues include switch memory costs, packet processing latency, and link failure recovery delays. The paper proposes Enhanced Link Failure Rerouting (ELFR), an… More >

Improving QoS Using Mobility-Based Optimized Multipath Routing Protocol in MANET

    S. J. Sangeetha1,*, T. Rajendran2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.46, No.1, pp. 1169-1181, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.033392 - 20 January 2023

Abstract Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANETs) connect numerous nodes to communicate data from the sender node to the target node. Due to the lack of an infrastructure network, mobile nodes communicate through wireless without an access point. MANET does not have a centralized controller and has a dynamic network topology, which increases link failure and energy consumption resulting in excessive path delay, loss of Quality of service (QoS), and reduced throughput during data communication. Congestion is a significant problem when the QoS of the link carrying the data is degraded. Routing is one of the vital challenges… More >

Prediction of Link Failure in MANET-IoT Using Fuzzy Linear Regression

    R. Mahalakshmi1,*, V. Prasanna Srinivasan2, S. Aghalya3, D. Muthukumaran4

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.2, pp. 1627-1637, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.032709 - 05 January 2023

Abstract A Mobile Ad-hoc NETwork (MANET) contains numerous mobile nodes, and it forms a structure-less network associated with wireless links. But, the node movement is the key feature of MANETs; hence, the quick action of the nodes guides a link failure. This link failure creates more data packet drops that can cause a long time delay. As a result, measuring accurate link failure time is the key factor in the MANET. This paper presents a Fuzzy Linear Regression Method to measure Link Failure (FLRLF) and provide an optimal route in the MANET-Internet of Things (IoT). This… More >

Improved Multi-Path Routing for QoS on MANET

    M. Vargheese1,*, Surbhi Bhatia2, Shakila Basheer3, Pankaj Dadheech4

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.45, No.3, pp. 2521-2536, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.031476 - 21 December 2022

Abstract A Mobile Ad hoc NETwork (MANET) is a self-configuring network that is not reliant on infrastructure. This paper introduces a new multipath routing method based on the Multi-Hop Routing (MHR) technique. MHR is the consecutive selection of suitable relay nodes to send information across nodes that are not within direct range of each other. Failing to ensure good MHR leads to several negative consequences, ultimately causing unsuccessful data transmission in a MANET. This research work consists of three portions. The first to attempt to propose an efficient MHR protocol is the design of Priority Based… More >

Decentralized Link Failure Prevention Routing (DLFPR) Algorithm for Efficient Internet of Things

    D. Kothandaraman1,*, M. Manickam2, A. Balasundaram3, D. Pradeep4, A. Arulmurugan5, Arun Kumar Sivaraman6, Sita Rani7, Barnali Dey8, R. Balakrishna9

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.34, No.1, pp. 655-666, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.024134 - 15 April 2022

Abstract This work implements a Decentralized Links Failure Prevention (DLFP) routing algorithm to promote enhanced and efficient Internet of Things (IoT). The work increases the mobility as well as an opportunity for loss of IoT node meeting links due to both mobility and blockers/interferers. The proposed algorithm overcomes loss issues as well as works in dynamically allocating alternate route from other IoT nodes available in near and selecting for efficient route in the network. When the link fails, bandwidth is reduced and coverage area problems for packets sending from source to destination is managed. The proposed… More >
