    Shun Ma1, Na Yu1, Xiuna Wang2, Shiyan Mei1, Mingrui Zhao2,*, Xiaoyu Han2

    Energy Engineering, Vol.120, No.10, pp. 2369-2392, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.028727 - 28 September 2023

Abstract Using the improved prospect theory with the linear transformations of rewarding good and punishing bad (RGPBIT), a new investment ranking model for power grid construction projects (PGCPs) is proposed. Given the uncertainty of each index value under the market environment, fuzzy numbers are used to describe qualitative indicators and interval numbers are used to describe quantitative ones. Taking into account decision-maker’s subjective risk attitudes, a multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) method based on improved prospect theory is proposed. First, the [−1, 1] RGPBIT operator is proposed to normalize the original data, to obtain the best and worst More >

Radial Basis Approximations Based BEMD for Enhancement of Non-Uniform Illumination Images

    Anchal Tyagi1, Salem Alelyani2, Sapna Katiyar3, Mohammad Rashid Hussain2,*, Rijwan Khan3, Mohammed Saleh Alsaqer2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.45, No.2, pp. 1423-1438, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.026057 - 03 November 2022

Abstract An image can be degraded due to many environmental factors like foggy or hazy weather, low light conditions, extra light conditions etc. Image captured under the poor light conditions is generally known as non-uniform illumination image. Non-uniform illumination hides some important information present in an image during the image capture Also, it degrades the visual quality of image which generates the need for enhancement of such images. Various techniques have been present in literature for the enhancement of such type of images. In this paper, a novel architecture has been proposed for enhancement of poor… More >

Boundary Layer Effect in Regularized Meshless Method for Laplace Equation

    Weiwei Li1, Wen Chen1,2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.100, No.5, pp. 347-362, 2014, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2014.100.347

Abstract This paper presents an efficient strategy for the accurate evaluation of near-boundary solutions in the regularized meshless method (RMM), also known as the boundary layer effect associated with the boundary element method. The RMM uses the double layer potentials as its interpolation basis function. When the field point is close to the boundary, the basis function will present nearly strongand hyper-singularities, respectively, for potentials and its derivative. This paper represents the first attempt to apply a nonlinear transformation, based on sinh function, to the accurate evaluation of nearly singular kernels associated with the RMM. The More >
