    Abstract The study deals with the numerical modeling of leachate distribution in the porous medium located under a municipal solid waste disposal landfill (MSWLF). The considered three-layer system is based on geological data obtained from field measurements. For simplicity, the problem is investigated by assuming a two-component approach.     The Combination of Achnatherum inebrians Extracts and Soil Microorganisms Inhibited Seed Germination and Seedling Growth in Elymus nutans

    Abstract In a greenhouse experiment, the effects of soil microorganisms and extracts of Achnatherum inebrians on the seed germination and seedling growth of Elymus nutans were studied. The results showed that both the extracts from aboveground and belowground parts of A. inebrians significantly inhibited the germination rate, germination potential, germination index, vigor index, seedling height, root length, and fresh weight of E. nutans, but increased malondialdehyde content, catalase, peroxidase and superoxide dismutase activity of E. nutans seedlings (p < 0.05).     Abstract A phosphogypsum-based subgrade stabilizer (PBSS) was formulated using industrial by-product phosphogypsum (PG), mixed with slag and calcium-silicon-rich active material (GSR). The active powder (AP) was used to modify PBSS, and PBSS-AP was obtained. PBSS and PBSS-AP were each mixed with 10% silty soil, and cement and lime (CAL: 5% lime + 2% cement) were used as the traditional material for comparative experiments.     There are few evidences on the effect of biochar on vegetable yield, nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) leaching losses under intensive vegetable production soil.     Selective Adsorption of Ag(I) from Electronic Waste Leachate Using Modified Silk Sericin

    Abstract A novel biosorbent was synthesized by grafting bisthiourea (BTU) on a silk sericin (SS) matrix. This biosorbent was denoted as BTU-SS and characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), zeta potential measurements, elemental analysis, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). As revealed by the adsorption experiments, both BTU-SS and SS showed low affinity towards coexisting base metallic ions in Ag(I)-Cu(II)-Zn(II)-Ni(II)-Pb(II) electronic waste leachate mixtures, while their adsorption capacities towards Ag(I) reached 30.5 and 10.4 mg·g–1 at a pH of 5.0, respectively.
