A Three-Dimensional Model for the Formation Pressure in Wellbores under Uncertainty

Jiawei Zhang*, Qing Wang, Hongchun Huang, Haige Wang, Guodong Ji, Meng Cui, Hongyuan Zhang

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.9, pp. 2305-2314, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.026304 - 16 May 2023

Abstract Formation pressure is the key parameter for the analysis of wellbore safety. With increasing drilling depth, however, the behavior of this variable becomes increasingly complex. In this work, a 3D model of the formation pressure under uncertainty is presented. Moreover a relevant algorithm is elaborated. First, the logging data of regional key drilling wells are collected and a one-dimensional formation pressure profile along the well depth is determined. Then, a 3D model of regional formation pressure of the hierarchical group layer is defined by using the Kriging interpolation algorithm relying on a support vector machine… More >

Spatial Quantitative Analysis of Garlic Price Data Based on ArcGIS Technology

    Guojing Wu1, Chao Zhang1,*, Pingzeng Liu1, Wanming Ren2, Yong Zheng2, Feng Guo1, Xiaowei Chen3, Russell Higgs4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.58, No.1, pp. 183-195, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.03792

Abstract In order to solve the hidden regional relationship among garlic prices, this paper carries out spatial quantitative analysis of garlic price data based on ArcGIS technology. The specific analysis process is to collect prices of garlic market from 2015 to 2017 in different regions of Shandong Province, using the Moran's Index to obtain monthly Moran indicators are positive, so as to analyze the overall positive relationship between garlic prices; then using the geostatistical analysis tool in ArcGIS to draw a spatial distribution Grid diagram, it was found that the price of garlic has a significant… More >

A Novel Twist Deformation Model of Soft Tissue in Surgery Simulation

    Xiaorui Zhang1,2,3,*, Pengpai Wang1, Wei Sun2, Norman I. Badler3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.55, No.2, pp. 297-319, 2018, DOI:10.3970/cmc.2018.01764

Abstract Real-time performance and accuracy are two most challenging requirements in virtual surgery training. These difficulties limit the promotion of advanced models in virtual surgery, including many geometric and physical models. This paper proposes a physical model of virtual soft tissue, which is a twist model based on the Kriging interpolation and membrane analogy. The proposed model can quickly locate spatial position through Kriging interpolation method and accurately compute the force change on the soft tissue through membrane analogy method. The virtual surgery simulation system is built with a PHANTOM OMNI haptic interaction device to simulate More >

A Moving Kriging Interpolation Response Surface Method for Structural Reliability Analysis

    W. Zhao1,2, J.K. Liu3, X.Y. Li2, Q.W. Yang4, Y.Y. Chen5

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.93, No.6, pp. 469-488, 2013, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2013.093.469

Abstract In order to obtain reliable structural design, it is of extreme importance to evaluate the failure probability, safety levels of structure (reliability analysis) and the effect of a change in a variable parameter on structural safety (sensitivity analysis) when uncertainties are considered. With a computationally cheaper approximation of the limit state function, various response surface methods (RSMs) have emerged as a convenient tool to solve this especially for complex problems. However, the traditional RSMs may produce large errors in some conditions especially for those highly non-linear limit state functions. Instead of the traditional least squares… More >

A Novel Meshless Method for Solving the Second Kind of Fredholm Integral Equations

    Hua Zou1, Hua Li1,2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.67, No.1, pp. 55-78, 2010, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2010.067.055

Abstract A novel meshless technique termed the Random Integral Quadrature (RIQ) method is developed in this paper for solving the generalized integral equations. By the RIQ method, the governing equations in the integral form are discretized directly with the field nodes distributed randomly or uniformly, which is achieved by discretizing the integral governing equations with the generalized integral quadrature (GIQ) technique over a set of background virtual nodes, and then interpolating the function values at the virtual nodes over a set of field nodes with Local Kriging method, where the field nodes are distributed either randomly… More >
