Availability Capacity Evaluation and Reliability Assessment of Integrated Systems Using Metaheuristic Algorithm

    A. Durgadevi*, N. Shanmugavadivoo

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.44, No.3, pp. 1951-1971, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.026810 - 01 August 2022

    Abstract

Contemporarily, the development of distributed generations (DGs) technologies is fetching more, and their deployment in power systems is becoming broad and diverse. Consequently, several glitches are found in the recent studies due to the inappropriate/inadequate penetrations. This work aims to improve the reliable operation of the power system employing reliability indices using a metaheuristic-based algorithm before and after DGs penetration with feeder system. The assessment procedure is carried out using MATLAB software and Modified Salp Swarm Algorithm (MSSA) that helps assess the Reliability indices of the proposed integrated IEEE RTS79 system for seven different configurations.

Abstract Tomato is an important field crop, and nutritional imbalances frequently reduce its yield. Diagnosis and Recommendation Integrated System (DRIS), uses ratios for nutrient deficiency diagnosis instead of absolute concentration in plant tests. In this study, local DRIS norms for the field tomatoes were established and the nutrient(s) limiting tomatoes yield were determined. Tomato leaves were analyzed for nutrients, to identify nutritional status using the DRIS approach. One hundred tomatoes fields were selected from Chatter Plain Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Sheikupura Punjab Pakistan. The first fully matured leaf was sampled, rinsed, dried and ground for analyzing… More >

Novel Approach to Energy Management via Performance Shaping Factors in Power Plants

Ahmed Ali Ajmi1,2, Noor Shakir Mahmood1,2, Khairur Rijal Jamaludin1,*, Hayati Habibah Abdul Talib1, Shamsul Sarip1, Hazilah Mad Kaidi1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.3, pp. 5025-5039, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.031239 - 28 July 2022

Abstract The literature that a lack of integration between the performance shaping factors (PSFs) and the energy management performance (EMP) is one of the critical problems that prevent performance improvement and reduces the power plant’s efficiency. To solve this problem, this article aims to achieve two main objectives: (1) Systematically investigate and identify the critical success factors (CSFs) for integration with PSFs and EMP; (2) Develop a novel modelling approach to predict the performance of power plants based on innovative integrated strategies. The research methodology is grounded on the theoretical and practical approach to improving performance.… More >

Active thermography based integrated system for Nondestructive testing and evaluation and its applications

    Y.S. Chen, Y.H. Huang, B. Yeung, L. Liu, Y.Y. Hung

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.20, No.1, pp. 21-22, 2011, DOI:10.3970/icces.2011.020.021

Abstract Active thermography is an optical-based non-contact inspection method for full-field and quantitative measurement of surface radiation to predict potential faults or inner structure of a test object. The mechanism of the active thermography inspection is to excite the test object using appropriate thermal excitation methods and measure the corresponding thermal response. Active thermography conducts testing in a more controllable way and offer more reliable results compared to passive thermography. This paper reports the development of integrated systems featured some advanced excitation methods and thermal image processing methods. Experiments have been conducted on samples with disbonds, More >
