Influencing factors and solution strategies of chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy (CAR–T) cell immunotherapy

    ZHENGYI WANG1,*, LIANG ZHOU1, XIAOYING WU2

    Oncology Research, Vol.32, No.9, pp. 1479-1516, 2024, DOI:10.32604/or.2024.048564 - 23 August 2024

Abstract Chimeric antigen receptor T-cesll therapy (CAR–T) has achieved groundbreaking advancements in clinical application, ushering in a new era for innovative cancer treatment. However, the challenges associated with implementing this novel targeted cell therapy are increasingly significant. Particularly in the clinical management of solid tumors, obstacles such as the immunosuppressive effects of the tumor microenvironment, limited local tumor infiltration capability of CAR–T cells, heterogeneity of tumor targeting antigens, uncertainties surrounding CAR–T quality, control, and clinical adverse reactions have contributed to increased drug resistance and decreased compliance in tumor therapy. These factors have significantly impeded the widespread More > Graphic Abstract

Contact Stress Reliability Analysis Model for Cylindrical Gear with Circular Arc Tooth Trace Based on an Improved Metamodel

    Qi Zhang1,2,4,5, Zhixin Chen3, Yang Wu4,*, Guoqi Xiang2, Guang Wen1, Xuegang Zhang2, Yongchun Xie2, Guangchun Yang2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.140, No.1, pp. 593-619, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.046319 - 16 April 2024

Abstract Although there is currently no unified standard theoretical formula for calculating the contact stress of cylindrical gears with a circular arc tooth trace (referred to as CATT gear), a mathematical model for determining the contact stress of CATT gear is essential for studying how parameters affect its contact stress and building the contact stress limit state equation for contact stress reliability analysis. In this study, a mathematical relationship between design parameters and contact stress is formulated using the Kriging Metamodel. To enhance the model’s accuracy, we propose a new hybrid algorithm that merges the genetic… More >

Research on Cavitation Characteristics and Influencing Factors of Herringbone Gear Pump

Jinlong Yang, Kwang-Hee Lee, Chul-Hee Lee*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.139, No.3, pp. 2917-2946, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2024.046740 - 11 March 2024

Abstract Cavitation is a common issue in pumps, causing a decrease in pump head, a fall in volumetric efficiency, and an intensification of outlet flow pulsation. It is one of the main hazards that affect the regular operation of the pump. Research on pump cavitation mainly focuses on mixed flow pumps, jet pumps, external spur gear pumps, etc. However, there are few cavitation studies on external herringbone gear pumps. In addition, pumps with different working principles significantly differ in the flow and complexity of the internal flow field. Therefore, it is urgent to study the cavitation… More >

Study on Influencing Factors of Mental Health of Mobile Young White-Collar Workers in China

    Tao Liu1, Lin Liu1, Zeyu Chen1,*, Rong Fu2,*

    International Journal of Mental Health Promotion, Vol.26, No.2, pp. 127-138, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ijmhp.2023.045071 - 08 March 2024

Abstract Mobile young white-collar workers not only have the characteristics of mobile young people, but also have the characteristics of general white-collar workers. Under the influence of both, their mental health may be suffering from “double disadvantage”. So, based on an ecological model of the stress process, this paper tries to use the data of the questionnaire on the mental health of mobile young white-collar workers in Zhejiang Province to explore the influence of some factors in the middle workplace and residence place on the mental health of micro individuals. The results show that: (1) The… More >

Machine Learning-Based Decision-Making Mechanism for Risk Assessment of Cardiovascular Disease

    Cheng Wang1, Haoran Zhu2,*, Congjun Rao2,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.138, No.1, pp. 691-718, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.029258 - 22 September 2023

Abstract Cardiovascular disease (CVD) has gradually become one of the main causes of harm to the life and health of residents. Exploring the influencing factors and risk assessment methods of CVD has become a general trend. In this paper, a machine learning-based decision-making mechanism for risk assessment of CVD is designed. In this mechanism, the logistics regression analysis method and factor analysis model are used to select age, obesity degree, blood pressure, blood fat, blood sugar, smoking status, drinking status, and exercise status as the main pathogenic factors of CVD, and an index system of risk More >

Adventitious Root Regeneration: Molecular Basis and Influencing Factors

    Lulu Zhi, Xiangyang Hu*

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.92, No.10, pp. 2825-2840, 2023, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2023.030912 - 15 September 2023

Abstract Plant regeneration is a self-repair of the plant body in response to adverse conditions or damaged structures, and root regeneration allows the plant body to better adapt to its environment by supplementing the roots’ structure. Previous research has shown that adventitious roots can be made to occur from scratch in two ways. Studies that simulate adventitious root regeneration through natural conditions allow the regeneration process to be broadly divided into three stages: the perception of early signals, the massive accumulation of auxin, and the transformation of cell fate. The strength of regeneration, in turn, is More >

Study on Influencing Factors of Methane Production Efficiency of Microbial Electrolytic Cell with CO2 as Carbon Source

Qifen Li, Yuanbo Hou*, Yongwen Yang, Liting Zhang, Xiaoxiao Yan

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.11, No.8, pp. 3333-3350, 2023, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2023.027464 - 26 June 2023

Abstract Reducing CO2 to produce methane through microbial electrolytic cell (MEC) is one of the important methods of CO2 resource utilization. In view of the problem of low methanogenesis rate and weak CO2 conversion rate in the reduction process, the flow field environment of the cathode chamber is changed by changing the upper gas circulation rate and the lower liquid circulation rate of the cathode chamber to explore the impact on the reactor startup and operation and products. The results showed that under certain conditions, the CO2 consumption and methane production rate could be increased by changing the… More >

A Review of Research on Galvanic Corrosion of Aluminum Alloys

Huixin Zhu, Mingzhe Leng*, Guofeng Jin*, Heyang Miao

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.7, pp. 1907-1923, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.025416 - 08 March 2023

Abstract When aluminum alloys are coupled with dissimilar materials, they often act as corrosion anodes and are suscepted to accelerated corrosion. Therefore, deepening our knowledge of such corrosion phenomena, related mechanisms, and elaborating new prediction model is of great theoretical and practical significance. In this paper, such mechanisms are explained from both macroscopic and microscopic points of view by considering several aspects such as the second phase particle type, grain size, and environmental ions. More specifically, different perspectives on such a problem are elaborated, which take into account: the properties of the coupling pair materials, geometrical… More >
