Bibliometric Exploration of Conversion of Sugars to Furan Derivatives 2,5-Dimethylfuran by Catalytic Process

    Nuttida Chanhom1, Tossapon Katongtung2, Nakorn Tippayawong2,*

    Energy Engineering, Vol.121, No.12, pp. 3649-3665, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ee.2024.054862 - 22 November 2024

Abstract This study investigated the conversion of sugars into furan derivatives, specifically 2,5-dimethylfuran, through catalytic processes using bibliographic analysis. This method evaluates scientific outcomes and impact within a specific field by analyzing data such as publication trends, references, collaborative models, leading authors, and institutions. The study utilized data from the reliable Scopus database and conducted analysis using the visualization of similarity (VOS) viewer program to gain in-depth insights into the current state of research on this topic. The findings revealed that “5 hydroxymethyl furfural” was the most used keyword, followed by “biomass” and “catalysis.” The research More >

Study on Hydrogen Storage Properties, Anti-Oxide Ability and Rate Limiting Step of ZrCr-Based Alloy after Introducing Cobalt as Additive

    Dongfang Huang1,4, Peng Lv1,2,3,4,*, Changlin Zhong1,2, Xingsheng Zhou1,2, Zhichen Liu4

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.11, No.3, pp. 1383-1400, 2023, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2022.023261 - 31 October 2022

Abstract In this work, the microstructure, hydrogen storage properties, anti-oxide ability and rate limiting step of Zr(Cr1−xCox)2 (x = 0, 0.2, 0.4 and 0.6) alloys have been investigated. After studying the crystal structure, we found that all alloy samples could show C14-type phase but the alloy sample x = 0 could also show a small amount of Cr phase. Rietveld fitting showed that lattice parameter and unit cell volume of C14-type phase decreased with increasing x. After further research, it was clear that the first hydrogen absorption capacity decreased with increasing x. But introducing more Co content had a positive influence More >

Suitability Evaluation of Hydrogen Production and Hydrogenation Station Based on AHP-Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation Method

Sainan Zhang, Jing Xue*, Xudong Sun

    Energy Engineering, Vol.119, No.4, pp. 1547-1567, 2022, DOI:10.32604/ee.2022.019450 - 23 May 2022

Abstract Since there are multiple influencing factors and lack of evaluation standards for the construction of hydrogen production and hydrogenation station in China, this paper establishes the suitability evaluation index system of hydrogen production and hydrogenation station from four aspects of technology, economy, environment and safety. Combined with actual conditions, this paper uses Analytic Hierarch Process (AHP) and Fuzzy Comprehensive evaluation to evaluate water electrolysis hydrogen and hydrogenation production station and natural gas reformation hydrogen production and hydrogenation station. The results show that hydrogen producing by water electrolysis is more efficient than natural gas reformation in More > Graphic Abstract

Effects of TiO2 Support and Cobalt Addition of Ni/TiO2 Catalyst in Selective Hydrogenation of Furfural to Furfuryl Alcohol

    Kittithad Wonglekha1,#, Weerachon Tolek1,#, Okorn Mekasuwandumrong2, Wasu Chaitree2, Piyasan Praserthdam1, Kiat Moon Lee3, Joongjai Panpranot1,3,4,*

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.10, No.8, pp. 2055-2072, 2022, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2022.019680 - 25 April 2022

Abstract An effect of phase compositions (rutile, Rut and anatase, Ant) of TiO2 supports on the selective hydrogenation of furfural to furfuryl alcohol was investigated. The 15%wt Ni/TiO2 catalysts were prepared by incipient impregnation method. The result showed that Ni supported on anatase-rutile mixed phase TiO2 (91% Rut and 9% Ant, A2) provided the highest furfuryl alcohol yield at 43.8% due to the relatively strong Ni-TiO2 interaction, its appropriate crystallite sizes, and high average pore sizes. Furthermore, the effect of cobalt as a promoter on Ni/ TiO2-A2 catalysts was studied. The result showed that the Ni-Co/TiO2-A2 catalysts exhibited poorer More > Graphic Abstract

Mixed-Ligand Ni(II), Co(II) and Fe(II) Complexes as Catalysts for Esterification of Biomass-Derived Levulinic Acid with Polyol and in Situ Reduction via Hydrogenation with NaBH4

Md. Anwar Hossain1,2, Lee Hwei Voon1,*

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.7, No.8, pp. 731-748, 2019, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2019.04703

Abstract Synthesizing polyol-based ester from biomass feedstocks for the preparation of biolubricant overcomes the dependence on petroleum oil usage. Albeit biomass-derived bio-oil is an alternative for the production of polyol ester, upgrading is essential prior to use as biolubricant. Levulinic acid (LA), obtained from bio-oil was applied for the catalytic esterification with two polyols, e.g., trimethylolpropane (TMP) and pentaerythritol (PE), in the presence of mixed-ligand Ni(II), Co(II), and Fe(II) complexes as catalyst. New mixed-ligand coordination complexes with empirical formula; [Ni(Phe)(Bpy)Cl].H2O, [Co(Phe)(Bpy)Cl].H2O, and [Fe(Phe)(Tyr)Cl].H2O were synthesized by the reaction of ligands [L-phenylalanine (Phe), 4,4'-bipyridine (Bpy), and L-tyrosine More >
