    Yin Ni1, Wu Zeng2,*, Peng Xia1, Guang Stanley Yang3, Ruochen Tan4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.79, No.3, pp. 5295-5312, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2024.049911

Abstract Deepfake-generated fake faces, commonly utilized in identity-related activities such as political propaganda, celebrity impersonations, evidence forgery, and familiar fraud, pose new societal threats. Although current deepfake generators strive for high realism in visual effects, they do not replicate biometric signals indicative of cardiac activity. Addressing this gap, many researchers have developed detection methods focusing on biometric characteristics. These methods utilize classification networks to analyze both temporal and spectral domain features of the remote photoplethysmography (rPPG) signal, resulting in high detection accuracy. However, in the spectral analysis, existing approaches often only consider the power spectral density… More >

Abstract Algorithms for steganography are methods of hiding data transfers in media files. Several machine learning architectures have been presented recently to improve stego image identification performance by using spatial information, and these methods have made it feasible to handle a wide range of problems associated with image analysis. Images with little information or low payload are used by information embedding methods, but the goal of all contemporary research is to employ high-payload images for classification. To address the need for both low- and high-payload images, this work provides a machine-learning approach to steganography image classification… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.77, No.2, pp. 1489-1514, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.042313

Abstract Permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) is widely used in various production processes because of its high efficiency, fast reaction time, and high power density. With the continuous promotion of new energy vehicles, timely detection of PMSM faults can significantly reduce the accident rate of new energy vehicles, further enhance consumers’ trust in their safety, and thus promote their popularity. Existing fault diagnosis methods based on deep learning can only distinguish different PMSM faults and cannot interpret and analyze them. Convolutional neural networks (CNN) show remarkable accuracy in image data analysis. However, due to the “black… More >

Efficient Supply Current Control Strategies for Bridgeless Interleaved AC-DC Converter

    R. Sasikala1,*, R. Seyezhai2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.43, No.1, pp. 175-191, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.022386

Abstract This paper presents an efficient supply current wave shaping technique for bridgeless interleaved Single Ended Primary Inductor Converter (SEPIC). The SEPIC converter converts an Alternating Current (AC) to Direct Current (DC) with the boost converter. Power Factor Correction (PFC) is progressively significant to achieve high energy efficiency. The overall system efficiency can be increased as the bridgeless topology has less conduction losses from rectifying bridges. Also, the bridgeless and interleaved techniques are incorporated in this study to achieve better performance. The performance of the system is analyzed on both current control and sensor-less techniques. Different More >

Incredible VLSI Design for MIMO System Using SEC-QPSK Detection

    L. Vasanth*, N. J. R. Muniraj

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.33, No.2, pp. 955-966, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.022979

Abstract Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) is an advanced communication technology that is often used for secure data transfer for military and other applications while transmitting data with high error and noise. To address this issue, a step-by-step hybrid Quadrature Phase Shift Keying (QPSK) modulation scheme in the MIMO system for a complex Very Large-Scale Integration (VLSI) format is recommended. When compared to Binary Phase Shift Keying (BPSK), this approach provides twice the data rate while using half the bandwidth. The complexity is lowered through multiplication and addition, as well as error and noise reduction in More >

    Structural Durability & Health Monitoring, Vol.1, No.2, pp. 121-130, 2005, DOI:10.3970/sdhm.2005.001.121

Abstract The focus of this paper is to design a new two-stroke linear generator engine. This paper describes the finite element based vibration fatigue analysis techniques that can be used to predict fatigue life using total life approach. Fatigue damage in traditionally determined from time signals of loading, usually in the form of stress and strain. However, there are scenarios when a spectral form of loading is more appropriate. In this case the loading is defined in terms of its magnitude at different frequencies in the form of a power spectral density (PSD) plot. A power… More >

Xianfu Huang, Zhanwei Liu, Jianxin Gao, Huimin Xie

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.17, No.1, pp. 25-26, 2011, DOI:10.3970/icces.2011.017.025

Abstract The spatial laser interferometry with combination of fast Fourier transformation (FFT) technique has been applied to analyze and reshape 3D profile of micro objects in this paper. In this technique, two beam of coherent spatial laser would superpose and interfere with each other to produce fringes with constant pitches. Deformed fringe lines would be generated on a tested object surface for its 3D height existence when a micro-movable platform with the tested object on it is placed in the spatial interferential fringe field. On the analysis of the fringe pattern collected by CCD which carries… More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.103, No.4, pp. 251-279, 2014, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2014.103.251

Abstract Mechanical behaviors arising at the contact interface largely depend on its surface topographies, particularly when it comes to rough surfaces. A numerical simulation based on an appropriate characterization of rough surfaces especially in terms of three dimensional can be of great significance when it comes to capturing the deformation patterns of micro-scale contacts. In this paper, a simple and practical scheme is developed to generate 3D rough surfaces and to analyze and evaluate the contact characteristics. Firstly amplitude and spatial statistical characterizations of asperities are introduced to avert from the redundancy of topography data caused… More >

    Xuefei He1, Kian-Meng Lim1,2,3, Siak-Piang Lim1,2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.35, No.1, pp. 21-48, 2008, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2008.035.021

Abstract The boundary element method (BEM) is known to have the advantage of reducing the dimension of problem by discretizing only the boundary of the domain. But it becomes less attractive for solving Poisson-type equations, due to the need to evaluate the domain integral which is computationally expensive. In this paper, we present the extension of a recently developed fast algorithm for Laplace equation, based on fast Fourier transform on multipoles (FFTM), to solve large scale 3D Poisson-type equations. We combined the Laplace solver with two fast methods for handling the domain integral based on fast More >
