Zhibo Yang, Xiaohan Huang, Bingdong Wang, Bin Hu, Zhenyong Zhang*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.80, No.2, pp. 3001-3019, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2024.053369 - 15 August 2024

Abstract With the widespread use of machine learning (ML) technology, the operational efficiency and responsiveness of power grids have been significantly enhanced, allowing smart grids to achieve high levels of automation and intelligence. However, tree ensemble models commonly used in smart grids are vulnerable to adversarial attacks, making it urgent to enhance their robustness. To address this, we propose a robustness enhancement method that incorporates physical constraints into the node-splitting decisions of tree ensembles. Our algorithm improves robustness by developing a dataset of adversarial examples that comply with physical laws, ensuring training data accurately reflects possible More >

A Survey on Acute Leukemia Expression Data Classification Using Ensembles

    Abdel Nasser H. Zaied1, Ehab Rushdy2, Mona Gamal3,*

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.47, No.2, pp. 1349-1364, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.033596 - 28 July 2023

Abstract Acute leukemia is an aggressive disease that has high mortality rates worldwide. The error rate can be as high as 40% when classifying acute leukemia into its subtypes. So, there is an urgent need to support hematologists during the classification process. More than two decades ago, researchers used microarray gene expression data to classify cancer and adopted acute leukemia as a test case. The high classification accuracy they achieved confirmed that it is possible to classify cancer subtypes using microarray gene expression data. Ensemble machine learning is an effective method that combines individual classifiers to… More >

Identification Method for Users-Transformer Relationship in Station Area Based on Local Selective Combination in Parallel Outlier Ensembles Algorithm

    Yunlong Ma1, Junwei Niu2,*, Bo Xu3, Xingtao Song2, Wei Huang2, Guoqiang Sun2

    Energy Engineering, Vol.120, No.3, pp. 681-700, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.024719 - 03 January 2023

Abstract In the power distribution system, the missing or incorrect file of users-transformer relationship (UTR) in low-voltage station area (LVSA) will affect the lean management of the LVSA, and the operation and maintenance of the distribution network. To effectively improve the lean management of LVSA, the paper proposes an identification method for the UTR based on Local Selective Combination in Parallel Outlier Ensembles algorithm (LSCP). Firstly, the voltage data is reconstructed based on the information entropy to highlight the differences in between. Then, the LSCP algorithm combines four base outlier detection algorithms, namely Isolation Forest (I-Forest),… More >

Recurrent Autoencoder Ensembles for Brake Operating Unit Anomaly Detection on Metro Vehicles

    Jaeyong Kang1, Chul-Su Kim2, Jeong Won Kang3, Jeonghwan Gwak1,4,5,6,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.1, pp. 1-14, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.023641 - 18 May 2022

Abstract The anomaly detection of the brake operating unit (BOU) in the brake systems on metro vehicle is critical for the safety and reliability of the trains. On the other hand, current periodic inspection and maintenance are unable to detect anomalies in an early stage. Also, building an accurate and stable system for detecting anomalies is extremely difficult. Therefore, we present an efficient model that use an ensemble of recurrent autoencoders to accurately detect the BOU abnormalities of metro trains. This is the first proposal to employ an ensemble deep learning technique to detect BOU abnormalities… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.70, No.3, pp. 5467-5469, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.020455 - 11 October 2021

Abstract COVID-19 is a growing problem worldwide with a high mortality rate. As a result, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared it a pandemic. In order to limit the spread of the disease, a fast and accurate diagnosis is required. A reverse transcript polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test is often used to detect the disease. However, since this test is time-consuming, a chest computed tomography (CT) or plain chest X-ray (CXR) is sometimes indicated. The value of automated diagnosis is that it saves time and money by minimizing human effort. Three significant contributions are made by… More >

Ensembles of Deep Learning Framework for Stomach Abnormalities Classification

Talha Saeed, Chu Kiong Loo*, Muhammad Shahreeza Safiruz Kassim

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.70, No.3, pp. 4357-4372, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.019076 - 11 October 2021

    Abstract

Abnormalities of the gastrointestinal tract are widespread worldwide today. Generally, an effective way to diagnose these life-threatening diseases is based on endoscopy, which comprises a vast number of images. However, the main challenge in this area is that the process is time-consuming and fatiguing for a gastroenterologist to examine every image in the set. Thus, this led to the rise of studies on designing AI-based systems to assist physicians in the diagnosis. In several medical imaging tasks, deep learning methods, especially convolutional neural networks (CNNs), have contributed to the state-of-the-art outcomes, where the complicated nonlinear relation

A Two-Step Approach for Improving Sentiment Classification Accuracy

    Muhammad Azam1, Tanvir Ahmed1, Rehan Ahmad2, Ateeq Ur Rehman3, Fahad Sabah1, Rao Muhammad Asif4,*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.30, No.3, pp. 853-867, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.019101 - 20 August 2021

Abstract Sentiment analysis is a method for assessing an individual’s thought, opinion, feeling, mentality, and conviction about a specific subject on indicated theme, idea, or product. The point could be a business association, a news article, a research paper, or an online item, etc. Opinions are generally divided into three groups of positive, negative, and unbiased. The way toward investigating different opinions and gathering them in every one of these categories is known as Sentiment Analysis. The enormously growing sentiment data on the web especially social media can be a big source of information. The processing… More >

Abstract The recent COVID-19 pandemic caused by the novel coronavirus, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), has had a significant impact on human life and the economy around the world. A reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test is used to screen for this disease, but its low sensitivity means that it is not sufficient for early detection and treatment. As RT-PCR is a time-consuming procedure, there is interest in the introduction of automated techniques for diagnosis. Deep learning has a key role to play in the field of medical imaging. The most important issue… More >
