    Congenital Absence of Pericardium: The Largest Systematic Review in the Field on 247 Worldwide Cases (1977-Now)

    Abstract Background: Congenital absence of pericardium (CAP), also known as pericardial agenesis, represents an uncommon cardiac abnormality and mostly incidental finding. It can be subdivided into complete and partial (left or right-sided) forms. Because of its infrequency, just case reports and a few case series have been released so far. This paper represents the largest systematic review in the field.     Abstract

    Electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring models are commonly employed for diagnosing heart diseases. Since ECG signals are normally acquired for a longer time duration with high resolution, there is a need to compress the ECG signals for transmission and storage. So, a novel compression technique is essential in transmitting the signals to the telemedicine center to monitor and analyse the data. In addition, the protection of ECG signals poses a challenging issue, which encryption techniques can resolve. The existing Encryption-Then-Compression (ETC) models for multimedia data fail to properly maintain the trade-off between compression performance and signal quality.

    Abstract Objective: Adult congenital heart disease (ACHD) patients are at risk of sudden cardiac death (SCD). However, methods for risk stratification are not yet well‐ defined. The Tpeak‐Tend (TpTe) interval, a measure of dispersion of ventricular repolari‐ zation, is a risk factor for SCD in non‐ACHD patients. We aim to evaluate whether TpTe can be used in risk stratification for SCD in ACHD patients.
